A few months later, I woke up to the sound of Charlie screaming in pain! I sprinted upstairs and to his bedside! He looked up at me and lifted his shirt up. Right below his rib cage was a huge purple, black, and green bruise with veins sticking out everywhere! I gasped and ran downstairs to grab my phone to call Hunter! He rushed to the house and by the time he'd gotten there Charlie's bed was soaked with sweat! Hunter rushed us to the emergency room and Hunter and I stayed in Charlie's room all night. We stayed there with him and talked to him for 2 weeks. Then one night I woke up to the sound of Charlie gasping for air. I stood up then everything went silent! He had stopped breathing! I woke up Hunter who then tried to do CPR but was unsuccessful! By then, I was crying uncontrollably! Had I just lost my best friend and my true love all at once!?! I then ran out in the hallway and started screaming for help. Three doctors and four nurses came running in. They asked Hunter and I to please leave the room. That's when I noticed the note on Charlie's bedside table. I ran in and grabbed it dodging nurses and doctors. I ran out and sat by Hunter in the waiting room. I unfolded the letter and started to read:
Dear Scarlett,
I am truly sorry that we can't spend the rest of our lives together, but I'm sure you will find love again. Live life to the fullest my love.
