"No, I'm not going to take her blood, Damon!"
"Oh, come on," he says, teasing the doctor in front of him, "just for a few hours."
Doctor Meredith inhales slowly as she looks down at the report in her hands of the patient laying in the room behind the glass.
"Damon, the girl has lost a lot of blood from the accident. I'd gladly give her vampire blood to help her recover but I don't want to risk it with all the danger around her. I can't."
When they hear a sound coming from the hospital bed they both look up. The girl seems very restless, even in her sleep. A frown appears on Damon's face.
"But," Meredith continues, "You have to be really careful with her. She's still my patient so I'm the one who's responsible for anything that happens to her, supernatural or not."
Damon just keeps staring at Lydia, debating what do with her, when a young intern passes by.
"Doctor, we need you in room 203." He says, handing her a report. Meredith nods in return and then turns back to Damon to end their conversation.
"Because of the extreme amount of blood she has lost, I'm pretty sure most of the vervain is already out of her system. I'll make a few changes on her report so no one will suspect my reasons, but you can take her home."
"Thanks, doc." Damon says, but before he can walk towards the door of the room Lydia's in, Meredith grabs his arm.
"Please, Damon, just," she sighs, "Don't get her involved in this world. She's just an innocent girl, she doesn't deserve this. Please don't harm her. "
"We'll see."

When I wake up the first thing that pops into my head is; where am I? I'm laying on my back in a bed in a small, white room. I hear a something beeping. When I follow the sound it brings me to a machine standing next to my bed on the right. I let my eyes travel to the I.V. bag hanging there, leading all the way down to my arms. There are more than one drips attached to me, infusing some liquid substance directly into a vein. I can almost hear my brain working.
Why am I here? Why am I here? Why am I here?
As I continue to look around me, all there seems to be are drips and buttons of which I have no idea what their purpose is. When I look to my left an extremely bright light seems to shine straight into my eyes. I immediately close them and quickly throw my head back to the right.
Suddenly, a chuckle fills the room.
"They really did a number on you," a male voice says. I try to sit up straight and look at the person who's in this room with me, but my head hurts so bad I can't get myself to move. The brightness in here only makes it worse. I slightly bend my head to get a better view of everything. A frown appears on my face when I see a familiar man standing on the other side of the room, going through the hospital report which is hanging on the edge of the bed.
"Damon?" I ask confused. It almost comes out as a whisper.
"You should really upgrade your driving skills, you know." He says, quickly reading the last page before closing it, "How do you feel?"
I don't respond. Not necessarily because I don't want to - but just because I don't know how I feel. I'm confused, yet my brain doesn't exactly know what to be confused about. So far the only thing I know is that I'm in a hospital. But why? I feel numb because I'm still trying to figure out what happened but at the same time I'm very aware of the gravity of the situation I'm in. Or at least, I was in... Argh! I'm going insane not knowing what happened. My brain is racing like crazy.
