Chapter one

Avery's P.O.V

I woke up with a harsh headahce and the feeling to vomit as soon as possible. Already knowing I would have a hangover I took the bottle of advil and the glass of water on my night stand that i set there the night before. Chugging down three pills I closed my eyes tightly and willed myself to sit up. As I did though a rush of dizzyness hit me and I rushed to the bathroom. After throwing up for what felt like forever I sat with my back up against the sink. "Rough night?" my brother, Ashton, asked while walking into my bathroom that was attached to my room. "Knock much?" I asked instead of answering his question. Sighing my brother came up to me kneeling down to my level. While pushing a stray peice of blonde hair that made its way to my now sweaty forehead he asked, "what happened to you Avery? You used to be so innocent?" Clenching my jaw I willed my tears not to fall. "Shit happens Ashton. You should fucking know." My temper grew quick causing him to flinch at my words. My brother and I never fight, hell we have never had an argument. I try to stay calm while talking to him because I know I have already put him through hell. I already felt bad about snapping at him but when I opened my mouth to apoligize he sighed. Taking one last look at me he shook his head and stood up. "You should start getting ready. You have school in an hour." With that he started walking away. As he was about to turn the handle I said, "Ashton?" He didn't turn around but I knew he heard me because he replied with a "Yeah?" I closed my eyes. "I love you." I finally said just above a whisper. "I love you too sis." Then he officially left. Leaving me on my bathroom floor. Smelling like vomit and covered in sweat. I wrinkled my nose at the thought of what i must've looked like. Without hesitating I jumped up ignoring the feeling off throwing up again and hopped into the shower. 

I walked into school with an apple in my hand and my phone in the other scrolling through twitter. Looking up for the first time since walking through the big double doors of Eastern High I found myself at my locker. With a very audible sigh I opened my locker and took out my chemistry books and spiral mostly filled with doodles. Turning around I came face to face with my best friend Eli. "Hey whore." She greeted making me giggle. "Hey bitch," I replied. Smiling she gave me a quick hug before going in her locker right next to mine. Eli and I have been best friends ever since I moved to California two years ago. She accidently ran into me at lunch and that somehow started a huge food fight making us the best friends we are now. "So Avery are you going tonight?" she asked breaking me out of memory lane. "Going where?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows. She turned around looking at me as if I just robbed a bank. "What?" I questioned suddenly getting pretty defensive. "I can't believe you don't know what tonight is!" She shrieked catching people's attention. I racked my brain trying to remember if we have talked about it. Shit did I forget her birthday? No that was in December. Oh my god! Was it our friendship anniversary? I instantly relaxed when I remembered that's in June. "Alright child I have no idea." I admitted. Bitting my lip I waited cautiously for her to freak out on me and go into detail about how I never listen to her and I should keep up with these kinds of things and that I never go out or have any fun..blah blah blah. Which isn't at all true. I mean I go out, just not with her. Which my wicked hangover I have (which she is not at all helping at this moment) would explain. "Oh my god! Avery, you have no life! Tonight is the bonfire! You know the one the whole school is going to!?" Ohhhh that's what tonight it. "Yeah Eli I don't think I'm going to go to that. Doesn't it seem pretty cliché?" There that look is again 'Come on child! I didn't rob a bank! stop it!' "You have to go!" She shrieked once again. "Why'd you ask if you weren't going to give me a choice?" I sighed. "That's for me to know and you to probably never find out" She giggled at her own joke. I rolled my eyes and giggled along with her. As I did so the signal bell rang telling us to go to our first period. "Okay I must go get tortured by techers now!" She proclaimed then skipped off to her class. I watched her leave untl I couldn't see her any more. Closing my eyes shut tightly I willed my feet to go to first period.
