Who's A Pretty Polly

Once upon a time, there was a bird,

Pretty vain as far as I heard,

This cute penguin went up to the river,

Took a look in and got in a tither,

The little guy walked up, meant for a drink,

Saw a glance, and didn’t think,

Alas, when he saw his reflection,

It required all his attention,

Because, as he took a peek,

He had to make himself sleek

Carefully, he smoothed a flipper,

Wanting it to look quite kipper.

He tilted his head from side to side,

Made his mouth open wide,

Until he thought ‘What a handsome beast.’

Well, that was his opinion at least!

According to the camera man,

He was slower than my nan,

The man’s name was Anthony Peirce,

He reported the beast was all but fierce.

After remaining hours on end,

He decided that he was up to the trend,

Promising to come back next week,

He returned again for another peek,

Kirsty, I have dubbed our little friend,

And here our story must end,

The moral is, don’t be like Kirsty,

Or you’ll end up going thirsty.
