I've been walking for almost two hours and I began to get tired. I glance at my phone, 2:15am. I really need to sit down so I begin to look for a place to rest. In the distance, a faint light of an old looking Cafe, perfect.

I walk inside to be greeted by the beautiful aroma of coffee. A small booth at the back of the cafe so I make my way to it, ordering a hot chocolate on the way. I sigh while sitting down, thinking about the mess I got myself into, I'm such an idiot. I let out a frustrated groan. What do I do now?

The man from the counter arrives and gives me my beverage. He must have seen the stressed look on my face and sits down opposite me. His deep blue eyes and his styled chocolate brown hair intrigued, reminded me of a friendly face. One that my father painted on for me to make me believe everything was alright.

"Is there something bothering ya lass?" he asks in a thick scottish accent.

"Is it that obvious?" I ask, chuckling.

"Well missy, what's on your mind?" he asks, seemingly showing genuine concern.

Maybe I should answer genuinely. "I got myself into a big mess by leaving home" I state, emotionlessly.

"And why would you go and do that?"

I sip my hot chocolate. "My family is broken, my self confidence is dropping and I don't know what to do..."

"Shouldn't you be happy that you left?"

"I am, I guess but I don't know where to go. I feel like I've made the biggest mistake coming here" I say shakily before I burst out into tears.

He wipes away my tears and says, "Don't cry lassie, I'm sure I can help" He walks away into the staff area of the cafe and comes back out with a brown envelope.

"Here take this" he says, handing me the envelope. I look inside and see thousands of pounds. Woah this guy!

"You really shouldn't be giving this to me" I whimper, tears still forming around my eyes.

"Oh it's fine! It should be enough for a plane ticket away from this place. Find a better life, you deserve it"

"Why on earth would you trust me?" I question.

He smiles and then chuckles.

"I guess it's just instinct, now go and find your new life"

"I guess it's just instinct, now go and find your new life"

He gets up and walks me over  to the door, thanking him. I walk out of the cafe only to notice a small note which had some writing and a phone number on it.

If you ever need a friend, James.
