I walked in to the house, grinning widely at the thought of Louis. My mother was cooking- or attempting to cook- dinner. "Hi Mum!" I greeted her happily. "What's gotten into you?" She asked. "Did you make any new friends?" I smiled. "I did. At least, I think I did." My mother hugged me. "Oh, Hayley! That's wonderful! What's her name?" I laughed. "Mum, HIS name is Louis. And he lives a few streets away. And he's funny, and charming, and really nice." My mother stirred the boiling pasta sauce. "He sounds like more of a crush than a friend!" I rolled my eyes at her before walking up to my room. I was exhausted. We had travelled so far in one day. I plopped down on my bed, sighing. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted to sleep. Suddenly, I heard a loud "thunk". I jumped up to find the source of the noise. "Thunk!" I heard again. It was coming from the window. What could it be? A bat? It is dark enough for a bat to be flying around. I opened my window as a small rock hit my head. "Ouch." I mumbled. I looked down to see Louis, covering his mouth in shock. "I'm so sorry Hayley!" I rubbed the pain away before meeting my glance with his. "How did you find my house?" I asked. He looked down, chuckling. "Well, I knew the street you lived on. But, let's just say I crossed through a lot of backyard and I may or may not have broken your neighbor's window." I shook my head in disappointment. "What are you here for?" I asked, just wanting to get some sleep. "I wanted to see if you wanted to go to the movies with me." He smiled, cheekily. "I can't, Louis. Not tonight. I had a really long day. Plus I have school tomorrow." I explained. His smile turned to a frown. "Oh. Okay. Maybe another night." He started to walk away, but I called after him. "Hey, um, do you by any chance go to Hall Cross?" I asked, referring to the new school I am attending. "Yeah. It's one of the only high schools in Doncaster. Why? Are you going there?" I nodded. "I could use a walking buddy....?" I hinted. He smiled. "I'll be here at 8. You better be ready!" He yelled. I smiled as he ran off.
I sighed at the relief of actually knowing someone who would be going to my school. I'm glad that person was Louis. He seemed really nice. I hope I can know him more. I just wanted a friend.
I fell back onto my bed and quickly fell asleep. I have a long day tomorrow, as if today wasn't already long enough.
