Food. It's necessary for a human to survive. Why I am not in a coffin or something? I'd rather be dead than suffering. Yes, an eighteen year old who's facing life like this. In my hands, I had a fifteen dollars. I played with the cash for a straight five minutes.

I headed towards the bathroom. I looked at my reflection. What have I done to deserve this? The mirror was cracked. There were literally tiny pieces of glass in the sink. I picked up one of the pieces and I slightly cut my finger with the glass.

This house may look like a landfill, but it's where I belong. I just need to accept the fact that this is how my life is. This is how it's going to be. I need to appreciate the things that I have, like this house. People are definitely in situations that are worse than mine.

In the very corner of my eye, I saw a necklace. The golden pendant could be seen a million miles away. It's definitely one of the most beautiful objects you would ever lay your eyes on. I'm personally not the type of person to wear jewelry, but it does have sentimental value to me. My crystal blue eyes returned to the mirror.

I put one foot in front of the other as I headed towards the nearest grocery store.
