Where mermaids fall

Have you ever heard of mermaids? If you have you probably think of beautiful young woman with the lower body of a fish right ? Maybe even the little mermaid? But you are all wrong for here I write the true story of how mermaids came to be.

It was on the 28'th of June 1678 . Pirates roamed the high seas and masses of wealth were being transported all across the world .

On this particular day a british naval ship on the waters of the Pacific Ocean on its way to India was left stranded due to lack of wind  . It is said that this ship was transporting gold as well as a few passengers of high class .

Among these passangers were 5 woman . The legends say that these woman were known for their beauty and wealth .

As the night came tragedy struck the naval ship as it was pillaged by pirates . The pirates took every last bit of gold and then they saw the woman ...There was an old pirate myth that having woman onboard a ship was bad luck but still the woman were taken.

Without mercy the woman were dragged to the pirate ship and shackled together without a scrap of clothing among them .

And off the pirates went. 3 day's later and a terrible storm hit . The boat being weighed down by gold led the pirates start panicking for the danger of capsizing was ever looming.

The captain being a superstitious man ordered the women's legs to be tied and then to be sacrificed to the sea.

One by one the woman were thrown over the edge . The last one uttered a curse upon all men that sailed the sea.

All of them sank to the bottom . They tried to scream but the salt water filled their lungs and soon they were blacked out.

None of the woman died though.
The curse that was spoken caused their legs to become one big fish tail and their lungs could breath in the water.

Months had passed and the pirates had forgotten about the woman , but the woman hadn't forgotten about them.Waiting for the day they could have their revenge on the men of the sea.

Sitting on a rock waiting for any ship to come by they would sing their siren song luring the unknowing sailers with their husky voices still stinging from the salt water.

You see the mermaids are forever cursed to the form they have . Capsizing ships and drowning sailors their sentence.

So beware weary sailor for you never know if you might be next.
