The pain I felt as I was being taken from my mother was unbearable but my anger and determination to defeat this guard was what kept me going. I tried to get him off of me but I wasn't making progress. That guard was using all of his will power to bring me to wherever he was going to bring me. After a couple seconds, I realized we weren't in heaven anymore and I knew for sure it wasn't hell. I was intrigued to see where we were headed. He finally started to slow down and descend. He held me by my robe against this door. I had never seen this place before. It was just...nothingness. A flat plain of land. He let go of my robe, forcefully turned me around and slowly opened the door. I saw only light. It sort of resembled a sky.
"What is this? Where are we?" I asked confusingly.
"You'll see." The guard responded. He threw me into the light. I was falling. I saw nothing for a few seconds. I looked down and started to see ground. Then buildings. It was a city. Afraid of hitting a building, I tried to fly. Nothing happened. My wings were gone. Was it because I wasn't in heaven anymore? Was I not an Angel anymore? So many questions that need answers but I focused on reality first. I was scared for my life but then I remembered I was an angel, I couldn't die. Before I knew it, I was in a dumpster. I climbed out of the garbage, leaving a stench on my body that smelled like rotten milk. Ugh I'm lactose intolerant as well. That definitely makes it better. I was in what looked like an ally way.
"Hey, dude. What were you in the garbage for?" A mysterious voice asked.
"Who said that?" I asked back. A boy who looked about 17 came from around the corner of the dumpster.
"Sorry. I just heard this loud noise and I was just being nosey. My name's Hendrickson by the way." The boy replied.
"Alright, Hendrickson. You mind telling me where I am?" I asked.
"You're in California." Hendrickson said.
"What's a 'California?'" I asked more confused than before.
"Bro, are you high? California...like the state. In the United States of America." Hendrickson replied with a look of confusion as if I had six arms.
"Okay okay. Whatever. Can you tell me how to get back to heaven?" I asked desperately.
"Um...you would have to die in order for that to happen and I can't help you with that. I go on death row and my mom would probably revive me and beat me to death herself." Hendrickson said with a chuckle.
"What do you mean 'die?' I can't die. I'm an Angel. Only humans die." I said.
"Dude. You are human. This is Earth. What drug are you on and where can I get some?" Hendrickson said.
"Earth? But....I thought that was just a myth. Wait if this is Earth, does that mean you're a human?" I asked.
"What else would I be?" Hendrickson responded.
"Oh god..." I mumbled.
I was actually on Earth. So the myth was actually a real thing.
"Look man, we can talk later. Just follow me." Hendrickson said. I wondered why he changed the topic so quick.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To my place. You need a shower, dude. You reek." Hendrickson replied dramatically.
"My name's Leo....not 'dude.'" I said.
"Okay, Leo. Just come on." Hendrickson said. We walked about three blocks before reaching this surprisingly nice house. It was bigger and looked better than any of the other houses on the street.
"Welcome to my domain. De la Hendrickson." Hendrickson said with a grin.
"It looks nice but my mother always said never judge a book by it's cover." I replied.
"Just wait until you see the inside." Hendrickson said as he slowly opened the door. The house was way better looking from the inside. I saw a staircase so apparently it was a two floor house. The loving room was huge. A couch that looked as comfy as sitting on clouds. A TV that looked at least 50 inches. The view from the window was great. You could see a sign that read "Hollywood." The kitchen had a big fridge and a table like one you'd see at a bar. He even had a washer and dryer. Hendrickson had an amazing house.
"Where do you work at to afford all of this?" I asked.
"I'm actually unemployed at the moment. I created this invention that produces money but no one knows but me...and you because i just...kind of...told you. Don't tell anyone." Hendrickson replied
"Okay. So...where's your shower?" I asked.
"Oh yeah. The bathroom is down that hallway, second door to your right." Hendrickson explained.
Hendrickson handed me some towels and some cleaning supplies. After I took a shower, Hendrickson showed me the guest room. It was nice but I was really focused on how to get back to Heaven. I explained where I came from and what I was and everything basically to Hendrickson.
