God, we're so sorry you guys had to wait that long for an update. Finally, here is the third chapter of "thank you for being us". Have fun!
Yoongi tried not to think about Park Jimin and his last words (the part about taking photos, not what he said about his face being handsome, thank you.) for the next week.
He really tried.
But everytime he sat at his desk the crumbled paper with Jimin's number caught his eye again.
Taking photos of a rock band. Yoongi always dreamt about an offer like this. But he didn't know Jimin after all and the few minutes he talked to him on campus weren't very helpful.
Yoongi was not even sure if that boy really played in a band or just said it to support his attitude. What did he say the name of his band was? Young Nation?
Yoongi sighed, taking the paper in his hand. He could just call him and ask about the offer.
Jimin would probably be oddly satisfied that his flirting had been successful. And he would definitely tease Yoongi about it. Great.
But being offered to take pictures...
'Oh, fuck it' Yoongi thought, as he typed Young Nation into the search engine and clicked 'Go'*****
Jimin sighed as he arrived at the door of their practice room. This was the first time the band would meet after the incident with Minho. The others won't be too angry at him after two weeks... well, at least he hoped so.
He experimentally turned the silver doorknob and was surprised when the door swang open. It looked like he wasn't the first one to arrive.
Not that they only entered the room for practice. Everybody had an own key and they occasionally used their own small music-empire (very small, but cozy) for hanging out or practicing on their own. When the guitarist entered the room, he noticed that he kinda missed the stifled air, caused by four people breathing and sweating during their practices. It's been way too long since the last one.
On the black leather couch standing in one corner sat Jungkook, their youngest member, eyes closed, listening to music. He was wearing some ripped jeans, a way too big white shirt and a beanie. His schoolbag was carelessly thrown next to the couch.
Jimin approached him slowly and, as soon as he was close enough, he pulled the headphones out of the youngers ears. Jungkook jumped, surprised by the sudden action.
"Goddamn it, Jimin!" he slapped his shoulder. "You could have warned me."
"Oops. I'm sorry, Kookie." Jimin sat down next to him and threw his bag next to the other one. "What's up with school?"
"Don't ask. We have so much tests lately."
"And of course you're busy studying." He ruffled Jungkook's hair. "Even the lead singer of a great band needs a graduation." Jungkook was like a little brother to Jimin and honestly, it was so much fun to tease him.
The younger flinched and let out an annoyed sigh : "You're only two years older than me. Don't act like I'm a baby!""Who's a baby?" A deep voice asked and a few seconds later Taehyung entered the room.
With their bassist finally arriving, the band was complete.
"Not me." The frontsinger stated and got up the couch to greet him. The two always did that special handshake, that Jimin never really understood. It's a bit stupid, but cute.
After they finished their greeting ceremony Taehyung turned to Jimin."Hey, ChimChim."
"God, how many times have I told you. Don't call me that!" Jimin replied, but he pulled him in for a short hug anyway.
"Come on. It's a cute nickname." Tae threw himself on the old armchair standing next to the couch and the others sat down too.
"It's not... and you know it."Jungkook decided to join the teasing:"Aw, looks like ChimChim is a bit grumpy today."
"I will tell all your secrets on stage the next time. I promise." Jimin knew it was a weak threat, but he couldn't be angry. This two boys kind of were his family. Jungkook, like a little brother. And Tae... since he was almost exactly as old as Jimin was, was kind of a strange, crazy twin brother.
They mostly were a pain in the arse but he guessed it had to be like that with best friends."It's kinda strange without Minho... don't you think?" Taehyung said suddently and for a moment the room was silent.
"Yeah." That was all Jimin could say. He knew it was his fault that he left, in a strange, ironical way.
But if Minho couldn't deal with him, there was no way it could have worked. They would have argued every single day.
Looking in the face of his fellow band members, Jimin could see that they were still kinda mad at him.
"Guys, I'm sorry..." He started, but was interrupted by Jungkook.
"Jimin, look..." He shot a glance at Taehyung. "You can't expect us to be happy about what happened. But it's okay. Yes, this whole situation is awkward. And I know this could have turned out better, but we will manage... somehow."
"Thanks. Of course we will."
"Band-Friendship-Power!" Tae shouted, raised his hand and high-fived the others.
They were a strange little family, Jimin had to admit and he was glad that they didn't hate him.But there were important things they needed to talk about. As soon as possible.
"I cancelled that gig we have next month." And before the others could interrupt him Jimin added : "I needed to. And I will pay the contractual penalty, since it's my fault that we can't perform."
He forced a weak smile. Young Nation already made a contract with the organizer of that small rock festival and since they couldn't perform, they had to pay. It's as simple as that.Taehyung looked from Jimin to Jungkook and back: "Okay, guys. What's next?"
"Our band currently consists of a bass player, a singer and me, a guitarist. Okay, so the first thing we need to do is to find a new drummer." Jimin stated. "But I've already worked on that."
"Hm?" Jungkook looked confused.
"I put up a note at the college's bullentin board."
"You really did? Wow, I'm impressed. When was that?"
Jimin sighed: "Last week.""And nobody called?" Tae asked, a sad tone in his voice.
"Two guys did. I told them to come over on saturday, so that we can talk to them first." Jimin got up and started walking up and down the room. This had to work. One of these guys needed to become their new drummer or the band would fall apart, he was sure about that. They needed something to do, a new challenge that would bind them together.
Jungkook sighed: "Well, that's better than nothing. I just hope they are nice. And can actually drum."
"Yes, I hope so too." Tae said, but he sounded optimistic and that stupid grin had reappeared on his face. "Young Nation won't back down."
"Of course not." Jungkook smiled.
"I would miss you two crazy idiots, especially our ChimChim."Jimin was about to reply and tell Tae to stop calling him that stupid name, when his phone started playing his ringtone, "Stairway to Heaven". Jimin fumbled it out of the pocket of his very tight jeans.
He was kind of surprised when he saw that the display showed him an unknown number was calling.
Jimin curiously pressed the green button appearing on the screen."Hello, it's Yoongi. So... about your offer..."
So..lead singer Jungkook and bassist Taehyung. What do you think about the lineup? Let us know in the comments. c:
