What Wakes You Up Better Than Screaming?

~ Cas's POV ~

I wake up with a jolt to hear AC/DC playing on my alarm.

"I'm on the highway to hell," I sing along.

Which is coincidentally the place I'm going today. Literal hell on earth. Pleasant Grove High, which is the worst name for it because no part of it is pleasant at all.

I hear yelling downstairs, and I know the daily massacre has begun.

"HAND OVER THE DAMN BACON."

"LANGUAGE."

"JUST GIVE HIM THE FRIGGIN' BACON."

"STOP YELLING."

"DID YOU BURN THE PANCAKES AGAIN ALFIE."

"SHUT UP LUCIFER."

"NO, YOU BURNT THE PANCAKES."

"WELL YOU CAN TAKE THE PANCAKES I MADE SPECIALLY FOR YOU, AND SHOVE THEM UP YOUR A-"

"LANGUAGE."

I shake my head as I pull on my ripped skinny jeans and a faded My Chemical Romance t-shirt. As I make my way downstairs, there is a loud crash and a yell so I run the rest of the way to see what happened.

"GABRIEL LESLIE NOVAK. YOU BETTER CLEAN THAT UP BEFORE HAEL STEPS ON IT," My mom screams.

Pause, before anything else, let me tell you about my family so you can sort of understand what's going on.

My mom and my dad, Anna and Chuck, had Samandriel first, though everyone calls him Alfie for some reason. He's the nicest out of all of us and is currently a senior at our highschool.

Then they had Lucifer, which is a very fitting name because he is 100% evil. He's a junior, but he almost got expelled. Twice.

Then here I am. Little Castiel stuck in the middle of all this craziness. I'm a sophomore and according to my brothers I'm emo. I'm not. Liking MCR and black clothing doesn't make me emo.

Then there is Gabriel. Lucifer pales in comparison to Gabe. He's the school prankster, and he always puts that stupid tag, The Trickster next to every prank he does so everyone knows it's him. He's had thirteen suspensions, he almost got been expelled four times, and he's had more detentions than the whole school combined. And that's just last year.

Moving on, we have the twins, Raphael and Uriel. They go to the middle school, and they never talk or get in trouble, and they are practically invisible.

And last but not least, we have Hael. She's my littlest sister and she's in elementary. She is the smallest and cutest little girl and we all spoil her. I mean, who can resist those puppy-dog eyes she does when she wants something?

Now you know my family, back into reality.

"C'mon mom! You know I hate my middle name." Gabe whines.

"Still. Go clean this up."

"Fine." I can hear grumbling as he walks away and I catch bits of it that sound like, Lucifer pushed my arm, and, how come he never has to clean.

I head around to the table and take my spot as mom leans in and slams her hands on the table to get everyone's attention.

"You guys know what day it is today right?" She says with enthusiasm.

There are collective grumbles around the table and finally Hael yells, "September 1st!!!! The first day of school!!!"

I have no idea how she can have that much enthusiasm over school, but she has boundless energy anyways.

"Yes Hael! That's right," She turns to the rest of us, "And guys, try not to get expelled or blow up the science lab or anything."

"THAT WAS ONE TIME." Gabe yells from the kitchen.

"Whatever. Just don't die please."

"Got it Mom."

"Can't keep any promises."

"Lucifer."

"Fine, Fine."

Mom checks the clock and immediately a frightened look falls on all of our faces.

"NOW GET YOUR ASSES TO SCHOOL BEFORE YOUR LATE." She yells as we all scramble to get everything together.

"LANGUAGE, MOM."

"SHUT UP GABE."

With those parting words, we all pile into the car and start the long drive to school.

Yay.

But as we pull out of the driveway, I notice someone actually moved in to the house next door. It must have been last week when we were visiting Grandma Eve.

That house has been empty for years though. I wonder who it is.

I see someone walk out of the door and.....

Oh my god.
