It was sunny outside. The kind of sunny that made you say 'wow that's beautiful'. A few scattered clouds spread across the sky as birds flitted in the air. The day was beautiful and it was peaceful.
It seemed like nothing could go wrong.

A sharp clacking sound reverberated off of the pavement outside of Saint Peter's Catholic Church, as a pair of worn and mud stained black heels strode up the pavement.

The woman's hair was in disarray, frizzy raven strands poking out wildly every which way. The mascara and eyeliner was smudged on her cheeks and under her eyes like she had been crying and her eyes were red and puffy. Her dark lipstick was smeared across her mouth in a tight dark line and her expression was a grim one. One lacking emotion, hard pressed lips. All that was seen, if you were looking closely would be the horror and pain prevalent deep within her dark brown eyes.

She pushed open the doors of the church and rushed inside, seeking asylum. Quickly stepping onto the brilliant red carpet of the aisle, she veered left and entered the confession box. She knelt on the kneeler and her shaky voice rang throughout the small box.

"Father, bless me for I have sinned. It has been one hour since my last confession."

The voice on the other side of the wooden screen responded, saying, "what is your sin, my child?"

"I released something. I released something evil. I made a mistake and i can't fix it. I can't forgive myself."

"What did you release my child? Why can't you forgive yourself?"

A snivelling sound came from the other side of the box before an eerie silence settled in the atmosphere.

"I d don't know wh what it was. I found this old book, a  grimoire of sorts. I looked at it and it had spells in it. I tried one and I made a horrible mistake. I can't be forgiven. I deviated from God's path of salvation and now I know that heaven is blocked from me forever. Please Father, what must I do to be forgiven? How can I cleanse my soul?"

"Well, my daughter, you may start by reciting..." Suddenly and without warning the priest began to laugh hysterically, his shaking body visible through the wooden mesh of the box.

"Father, are you alright? What are you laughing?"

The laughing stopped abruptly. "Oh I am sorry for that. You shall recite ten hail Mary's and three Our Father's. Also, I would like you to come to mass today and so in the front row. Now, if you excuse me I must go to prepare for the mass. May God bless you."

Both occupants exited the confessional and headed their sperate ways. The priest, Father Talto, headed to the sacresty to prepare for the mass and the woman crossed to the front pew on the right side of the church.

Nervously she tapped her lacquered fingernails against the arm rest of the pew and she watched in uncomfortable silence as four complete strangers, all carrying the same blood red cloaks, sat on either side of her. The organ began to play but it wasn't the typical drawl of the hymns. It was a dark and minor piece, shrill and harsh on her ears. She watched in silence as all the members turned to her. Her eyes widened in terror as a cloth covered her mouth and tears began to stream down her face as the world faded to black.

When she awoke, she found that she had been changed out of her clothing and into something else. A pure white nightgown, tightly bound under her breasts covered her body. Feeling a cool marble surface under her, she found that she was laying atop the altar, restrained with thick leather cord. Looking to her left, down the aisle she saw that the stranger were all cloaked in the robes and that they were chanting as they processed up te aisle. She struggled to break the restraints but in the end it was futile as it only tightened them.  The group halted in front of the altar and the leader removed their hood.
