Gray sat at the bar, his head rested on the table, his eye-lids dropping in exaustion. His last quest had left the Ice Mage in a rather tired state.

"Hey Ice-boy, need a drink?" The voice of the drunken brunette called him to his senses from across the bar. Gray snapped up, turning to see the blank face of Cana, the guild's heaviest drinker. She held up a fresh mug of beer to the exhausted man.

Gray raised a hand to decline the drunk woman's offer. "Er... No thank you Cana..." He sighed tiredly.

"Hmm suit yourself." She grumbled, grabbing the mug she had offered it and taking a long sip out of it.

Gray sighed, laying his head down and noticing something for the first time. The guild was quiet today. "Uh, Cana? Have you seen The Pyro yet this morning?" He asked, raising his head.

"Natsu? Yea, he came in while you were dozing off. Lucy and him took a request off the board and headed off together. Guess they wanted some alone time." Cana chuckled, a wicked smirk on her face. Gray rolled his eyes and plopped his head back down on the table, starting to doze off again just as the brunette started to talk again. "So when are you and a certain Water Mage going to get together?" Cana asked in a snarky voice.

"Huh?"Gray had barely heard her words, but he sat up when the guild doors opened.

"Speak of the devil..." Cana chuckled.

Gray turned to see the familiar face of the Rain-Woman, dressed in her typical blue dress and wearing the same cheeky expression she always had when she saw him. Juvia's grin widened as she launched her way over to the exhausted ice wizard, her eyes turned to hearts.

"Good morning, my dearest Gray! I didn't know you had come back from your quest, but I'm so very glad that you've returned! I missed you so much, did the mission go well?" Juvia hugged Gray tightly, causing his eyes to widen and his back to sit up straight.

He sighed and tried to force the Water Mage off, much to his failure. "Good morning, Juvia." He sighed, his voice ringing with exaustion.

"I was going to ask if you were up for a quest together but..." Juvia pulled back and scratched her head. "You seem exhausted. Maybe another time?"

"Yea, sure, whatever, sounds good Juvia." He muttered coldly, placing his head on the table and not looking up. Cana cast Gray an evil glare, which the Ice Mage completely missed.

Juvia rubbed her chin and looked at her beloved thoughtfully. "Hmmm, perhaps you and I could do something fun and relaxing. Maybe we could go to the park and have a picnic? Or we could go to my place and cuddl- I mean talk? Or maybe you and I ca-"

"Not. Right. Now." Gray growled, casting a dark glare to the over excited blue-nette. Juvia's cheerful and bright expression faded quickly into complete and utter disappointment.

"Oh. I-I... I understand." Juvia muttered, her voice barely a whisper. She turned and walked slowly towards the door. Thunder cracked outside, and when the doors parted, rain was suddenly pouring down heavily. Juvia stepped right into the downpour, slamming the door.

Gray finally began to fall asleep again when he felt a sharp pain in his head. "Ouch! Shit!" He sat up suddenly and rubbed his head. A pissed off Mira and Cana loomed above his head. The brunette held an empty mug, which she had obviously used to hit him. "What the hell was that for?" Gray grumbled.

"Way to go, Ice-For-Brain!" Cana growled.

"That wasn't very nice, Gray." Mira stated blankly, her face filled with anger and disappointment.

"Damnit Gray! She was trying to be nice to you!" Cana growled as Mira turned her back on Gray, obviously trying to show her anger.

"What did I-"

"Juvia really likes you, are you so ignorant you can't see that?"

Gray scratched his head, wide awake now. "Well sure, I guess, but..."

Mira turned and was watching the conversation with interest. "You do like her too, don't you Gray?" She asked curiously, her gaze grew more gentle as she stepped over to where he sat.

Gray fumbled for the correct words. Do I like her? He asked himself, looking around awkwardly. Do I like her? He repeated. He racked his brain for a few moments, trying to come up with an actual answer that wasn't a lie.

"That's definitely a yes." Cana laughed.

"Huh?" Gray snapped out of thought. "I never said-"

"Wake up Ice Princess. You like her, she likes you. Stop being an idiot." Cana took a giant swig of beer and walked away. Mira turned to talk to another guild mate.

Gray sighed and stood, stretching his arms before turning and walking out towards the door, opening and stepping out into the rain.

Gray knocked on the door to Juvia's apartment, shivering and soaked to the bone. He knocked again, and getting silence again, he turned the knob on the door, and finding it unlocked, he walked in. The living room was dark, with the only light being a candle on a table. A tiny shriek sounded from the darkness when he stepped in. In the dim candle light, he could see the outline of a pale face with two shimmering blue orbs.

"Gray?" Juvia's quietly whispered. "Why aren't you resting up? You obviously are too tired to want to even talk to me." She stated blankly, with a small hint of annoyance in her voice, which was unusual for the Water Mage. (Except when she was talking to one of her many love-rivals...)

"Can I sit?" He asked, closing the door behind him and gesturing towards the couch.

Her cheeks began to grow pink and she nodded. "W-why did you come here?" She asked quietly. "Did my beloved Gray feel bad?"

Gray didn't look the Water-Mage in the eye. "Yea. I guess you could say that."

Juvia perked up. "My darling Gray actually cares!" She suddenly reached over and hugged Grays shoulders tightly. The Ice Mage gasped at the sudden embrace. He tried to push her away, but he saw hurt in her eyes and pulled her close again, much to the delight of the blue haired girl.

"Hey... Um... Juvia..." Gray stuttered awkwardly.

"Yes?"

"I um..." Gray took a harsh breath and released Juvia, allowing her to turn and look him in the eye. "I'm sorry. For what I said."

"I've already forgiven you my beloved." She grinned, just as sunlight began to seep through Juvia's curtains. The Water Wizard wrapped her arms around Gray's torso, and he did the same, staring at the streaks of sunlight on the carpet and enjoying the comfort of the girl beside him.
