Edolas Gruvia - First Date

(Edolas Gray x Juvia was too cute not to write a one-shot for...)

"Juvvvvviiiiiaaaaa! Where are you my dearest?" Gray floated around the guild hall in a daze, a dopey smile of his face. The Edolas Fairy Tail had set up a more permanent guild hall, and they all stayed together despite their lack of magic powers. In fact, they had grown closer without it, and were more like a normal family. Without the worry of hiding from the royal army, they were able to focus on other things, like dating. So dating was all Gray Surge cared about...

But not just dating any girl.

"There you are!" He said triumphantly, his eyes turning into hearts as his gaze rested on the blue haired girl from across the room. Juvia stopped in her tracks as the heavily clothed man launched himself at her cheerfully. Before she could make a break, Gary engulfed her in a tight hug, nearly suffocating her with his layers of jackets.

"Stop smothering me!" She yelled, pushing away from him in anger. Gray looked at her sadly, fixing his topmost coat with his lip quivering.

"I'm sorry my dearest, I didn't mean to upset you!" He said regretfully.

"Whatever. What did you want anyway?"

"Oh, right!" Gray Surge perked up, folding his hands together happily, "Lucy and Natsu are going on their first date tonight! Isn't that sweet?"

Juvia frowned and crossly folded her arms to her chest. "Is that all you came to tell me?"

"Well, er... No." Gray scratched the back of his head awkwardly, "Lucy asked if I wanted to go with them, as a double date, you know, with you." His voice grew quiet as the sentence went on, and Juvia raised and eyebrow. "Well, what I'm trying to ask is if you'd like to go on a date with me?" Gray blushed a deep red, and his eyes watered slightly.

Juvia thought for a minute, and then shrugged. "Sure, why not." Gray froze, staring at her with a blank gaze for a few moments. "Gray?! Hey idiot, snap out of it!"

"Huh?" He shook his head frantically, "Sorry, I thought I was daydreaming- cause... I thought you said that you'd like to go on the date with me..."

"I did." She grumbled impatiently, "I did say that."

Gray burst with happiness, hugging her tightly and smiling widely, "I can't believe this is finally happening! Oh, this is going to be the greatest!" He kept chattering on about his joy until Juvia finally managed to push him away.

"Whatever. I'll be ready by seven. You better be on time; and loose a few of those coats!" Juvia said harshly, exiting the guild swiftly.

Juvia stood, fixing her small hat in the mirror, when a knock on the door startled her. She glanced at the clock. 6:57. Not bad.

She walked over and pulled open the door, unintentionally smiling slightly upon seeing the blushing face of Gray Surge. He stood tall, wearing a black tux with an elegant red tie, and holding a bouquet of fresh roses in his gloved hands. "You clean up well enough." Juvia said, with a hint sincerity in her voice. Upon further inspection, she noticed that Gray was actually wearing three tuxedo jackets, and she rolled her eyes. "Three jackets? Really?"

"I couldn't go without them! I'd get too cold!" He whined, pouting a bit.

"Whatever." Juvia grumbled, gently taking the roses from his hands. "So, where are we meeting Natsu and Lucy at?"

Gray suddenly tensed up, a bead of sweat appearing on his forehead. "Well, see... The thing is... I-" he gulped, "I, ummm, lied.. About this being a double date..." He mumbled nervously, pulling at his collar with his finger, "Lucy and Natsu aren't c-coming..."

"What?!" Juvia's face turned bright red, and her face twisted angrily.

"I-I.." Gray shrunk down, his eyes brimming with tears, "I thought it might help convince you to go with me... I didn't mean anything malicious by it... I'm sorry..." He sadly mumbled incoherent apologies and excuses, until Juvia grabbed him by the collar and pulled him up to her, dropping the roses. She swiftly pulled his face close to hers, forcing her lips onto his. His mumbles died away as she kissed him for a few moments, before pushing him away suddenly.

"Let's just go anyway." She stated blandly, looking away to hide her red face. Gray brimmed with happiness, wiping away his tears with one hand and extending his other hand for her to take...
