Sköll's POV

"Sköll-" my father growled, "How could you disrespect your mother and the pack like that?" He towered over me, I could hear his nails curling into the Earth next to me.

"But I didn't know..." I whimpered. My father, the alpha male of our pack, snarled angrily at me, making me cower even more. I sighed and looked down, not knowing what to say. My father nodded to me, and hopped off of me. He started back towards our den. I didn't move as I watched his guards as they loyally followed behind him.

As soon as he was out of sight, I sprung up and ran to the bush that Ash had been hiding in. I pounced on him, and we rolled around in the dirt.

"Aah! Dude! Your dad was super angry. Maybe you should go apologize to your mom," Ash giggled at me.

"Yeah, as soon as you apologize to my sister," I laughed back.

I watched his light tan fur as he shook all the dirt off of him. He was one of the tiniest pups in the whole pack, and also has one of the worst coats. He couldn't camouflage, and he had no distinctive marks, he was just all tan except for one white foot. We called that his lucky foot. Except, it was rather unlucky. It always stood out if he was trying to hide. I'm surprised my dad didn't see it while he was hiding in the bush.

I heard foot steps creeping up behind me and turned around, snarling at whatever forest creature was about to attack us.

"Wow, you're soo scary," a familiar, sarcastic voice chuckled.

I rolled my eyes when I realized it was just my older sister who was the forest creature I was anticipating on killing.

"Skye, seriously, go away," I rolled my eyes again at her, shaking all the dirt off my multi-colored coat. I thought I had one of the best coats in the entire pack, except for my father of course. My father has an all black coat with piercing blue eyes. My mother has a tan and white coat. So of course, I got the best of both worlds and got a tan, white, and black coat. Unfortunately, I only got one of my dad's eyes. My other eye is brown. At least I'm still unique.

"Y'know, if you're gonna become alpha, you should learn to stop goofing off so much. You're going to have some serious responsibilities," Skye said.

"Yeah, like what? Learning how to hunt? Pssh. I'm sure that's easy, dad's gonna take me in a couple days anyway," I replied.

"Wow, you really are stupid. Do you even realize all that dad does for us? We have a giant territory that dad has to constantly protect and he always had to be on the lookout for predators. He has to check up on each and every one of us individually everyday. Geez. You need to learn some respect, Sköll," my sister replied.

She huffed and trotted past us, purposefully bumping into me as she passed by.

As she bumped me, she turned around, "So, do I get an apology, Ash?"

"Oh- uh...uh..Y-yeah. Sorry," Ash choked up; he had a huge crush on my older sister.

Skye shrugged and chuckled, "Huh. Guess that's good enough," She turned back around and walked away.

Skye's two years older than me, and acts like she knows everything about running a pack.

But then again, she does know more than me.

Even though I'm supposed to become alpha once my dad dies, I didn't know a thing about running a wolf pack. I try not to think about it.

I watched my sister's white fur as she faded into the distance. She got my mother's white fur and my dad's blue eyes. She was truly stunning, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks that because every other male in the pack, including my own best friend, drools as she walks by. Ash's jaw practically drops to the floor when he sees her.

"You're not very good at showing girls that you like them, Ash," I laughed at him.

He rolled his eyes, "It's getting dark, my mom's probably wondering where I am. Hey, I'll see you later. Lemme know how the big hunt goes!" Ash turned and ran off towards his den.

"Oh, yeah, ok. Bye Ash!" I turned in the opposite direction, the same one where Skye had disappeared off to, to return back to my own home.
