I packed up my things as I headed out of the art classroom, my second favorite subject. I saw C/N draw something new today, a flower. A daisy and a rose, seemingly dancing in the breeze together.

I snapped out of my daydream and opened my locker, stuffing my school supplies inside and grabbing my guitar, lyrics, and my notebook. You never know when you could come up with something new.

I headed out to the music room, the closet to be exact. I hid there and waiting until I knew nobody was there, and I started to sing my song. A cover, of 'Best Friend' by Jason Chen. It was your favorite song since it was true. You started to sing your song, while playing the notes precisely.

Do you remember when I said I'd always be there.
Ever since we were ten, baby.
When we were out on the playground playing pretend.
I didn't know it back then.

We would always go to the playground as kids. We would spend hours upon hours there just messing around freely.

Now I realize you are the only one

I packed my stuff up in my locker and headed out to the music room to grab my sheet for homework. Man, the teacher always gives us way too much homework. I can't believe I have to memorize the notes to 'Hot Cross Buns' on the recorder. We're not nine!

I heard such a beautiful voice from across the room. It seemed as if it was coming from the closet. I looked by the closet and continued to listen. I recognized this song....

This is something like a movie
And I don't know how it ends, girl/boy But I fell in love with my best friend

It was true. I fell in love with C/N, all I hope was to be with them. Forever. Until we grew old. I wanted them to hold me, and me hold them. Have that cliche love that everybody sometimes in their life wants.

I keep going at the first one as I hear another voice on the other side of the door. A male/female voice, as far as I'm concerned. I stop.

I sing with them. Whoever they are, they made me feel something I should have realized a long time ago. Y/N...I love them....

T-this person's voice is beautiful. It's making me love drunk, making me feel more alive then i've ever been before.

Y/N:

I know it sounds crazy
That you'd be my baby.
Girl/Boy, you mean that much to me.

C/N:

And nothing compares when
We're lighter than air and
We don't wanna come back down.

Y/N:

And I don't wanna ruin what we have
Love is so unpredictable.

C/N:

But it's the risk that I'm taking, hoping, praying
You'd fall in love with your best friend

We both sang the last parts of the chorus and the last lines, me playing the last note on my guitar. I stand quickly and grab the doorknob. Whoever this is, they have such a beautiful voice.

~*~ Narrator ~*~

Y/N and C/N opened the door at the same time. They stood both in shock as they stared at each other. At the same time, they both said, "Who was it for?"

C/N was the first to speak up. "It was for a good friend I have. Someone with amazing E/C eyes and H/C hair."

It fit Y/N's description exactly. Then they replied. "Well, mine is the same except with E/C eyes and H/C hair."

They both knew it meant each other and hugged.

Y/N mumbled under their breath:

"But it's the risk i'm taking, hoping, praying, You'd fall in love with your best friend."

C/N chuckled. They kissed the top of Y/n's head.

"Will you go out with me, best friend?"

"Of course, best friend."
