Aleen's POV

A wave of happiness went through my whole body as my eyes met with very close, familiar ones which I longed for these past 5 years.

My brother Sameer!

He had come to pick me up from the airport as I had two weeks off college. How much I missed my family. How much I missed my friends. How much I missed everything related to this place, excluding some memories which I just didn't want to cherish.

Sameer shouted out my name, bringing me out of my own world. I went closer to him and hugged him tight, as if my whole life depended on him. He did the same. Not a word spoken.

Finally he broke the hug and looked into my teary eyes.

"Aleen why are you crying" Sameer said, ever so gently.

"Nothing, I just met my only brother after three freaking years. What do you expect" I mocked.

He lightly chuckled, wrapped a hand around my shoulders, bringing me closer, and picked up my suitcase, walking us to where the car was parked.

"Ma and Pa are really excited to meet you." He finally spoke as we neared the car.

"I also cant wait to see them" I replied, opening the front seat door.

Both of us sat down and Sameer started the car, taking me nearer to home but making my heart beat faster with the thought of meeting my parents after such a long time!

"Your friends are also here for vacations. Are you going to meet them" Sameer said.

"I will think about that, I am not sure if I should go or not" I said.

"I think you should. They even planned a reunion party"

"Really! When is it?"

"After 3 days"

"How do you know?"

"Nagham called me to inform you if you are coming here this year, because of course you cut off all connections with your friends when you went off for uni"

I sighed. Not bothering to reply.

"Why did you do that?" Sameer spoke again, breaking the silence.

"Some things just dont have an answer" I said.

My curiosity halted to an end when I asked Sameer who of my friends are over here, longing to hear that one name.

Armaan.

"Umm, Nagham, Rosie, Sami, Jane, Sarah and..."

"And?"

"Samreen"

"Oh ok"

With that I leaned back on my seat, staring outside.

"Aleen you know they opened a Gloria Jeans Coffee shop outlet here too" Sameer said pointing out, unknowingly flushing me with all the memories that should have been long forgotten.

*Flashback Starts*

I walk into my room to pick up my phone which is ringing. After seeing the name flashing on my phone, I automatically smile.

Armaan.

"Hi Leen, what are you doing" Armaan spoke.

"Assalamoalikum to you too Armaan"

"Waalikumassalam, now what are you doing?"

"Nothing special, why?"

"Great then, I am coming to pick you up exactly in an hour, be ready!"

"But why? I mean suddenly? Is it something important"

"Yes, actually its something very important. The first confession of my life"

"What do you mean?"'

"That is for me to know and you to find out. Now go and get ready."

"But..."

The call was disconnected, leaving me in some sort of confusion which erupted butterflies in my stomach.

Which confession was he talking about, and why is it so important?

Leaving aside all the questions I decided to get ready.

After an hour I walked out of my house to see a black car parked there, with Armaan leaning on the frontseat door.

As soon as he saw me he came towards me and motioned me to sit in the car.

The car started to accelerate, yet no one spoke.

"You look really nice today" Armaan hesitantly said. He sounded extremely nervous. But why?

"JAZAKALLAH, you look good yourself too" I said

"Thanks"

"So where are we going?" I asked

"You'll see yourself soon" He said

The rest of the journey was silent. No one spoke, leaving the atmosphere awkward.

After what felt like forever, the car came to a halt. Armaan gestured me to come out. We then entered the Gloria Jeans outlet and sat one a table in the corner, away from the rest.

I was observing the surrounding when Armaan cleared his throat, to get my attention.

"umm...Leen...today I brought you here to tell you something very important, a fact that was always a mystery for me, probably because I never had the strength to accept it, but now I am sure and I didnt want to waste time keeping it from you." He said

"Armaan I am listening, go on"

"Leen, I...umm...I,"

"yes?"

"I lo..."

Just then the waiter came and asked us what we want to order. We ordered coffee and then I gestured Armaan to continue.

"Aleen...I love you!"

I was in a state of shock, not able to analyse anything being said or happening around.

But the thing was...I always loved him, he was always unaware of the fact. But today when he said it, I just couldnt gather courage to say it back.

"Leen, I knew that you'll react like this and that you wont like me back but I just wanted to tell you the truth and trust me its no problem if we dont share mutual feeling but I just hope this doesnt affect our friendship. I will leave now but..." He ranted and I could see that he was hurt. Deeply hurt.

Just then I cut him off and confessed,

"Mr Muhammad Armaan Khan, I love you too!"

Everything around us stopped. It felt like it was only me and him then, in our own little blissful world.

That was the most memorable day of my life.

*Flashback Ends*

"Aleen...Aleen!" Sameer snapped his finger infront of me.

"yes?"

"We are home, come on" He said

"yeah I am coming you take my bag" I said and wiped the tear that was struggling to make its way down from a long time.

I forgot everything remembering that I am finally HOME!
