Chapter 3
No More Animosity
The week dragged by slowly in Adrian’s opinion. And while his talk with Thompson and Mr. Collins last Tuesday was left unspoken during class, Adrian always came to his teacher after his lesson, convincing him that his plan was seriously going to kick their ass in the end. The only response he managed get from his teacher though, was a smirk and a dismissive hand wave, not that the gestures stopped him. For it certainly didn’t.
He just noticed this weird thing happening too, oddly enough, he noticed that it seemed like he was the only one persuading his teacher on stopping his very absurd plan. Thompson always left Mr. Collins’s class, which was their last class, in a hurry. It always looked like a devil was chasing Thompson on his heels. This thing of course, made Adrian suspicious, did Thompson want the idea as much as their crazy teacher wanted it?
No, of course not, Thompson didn’t take it well either last Tuesday; it’s just that if he didn’t like the idea either, then why wasn’t he making a move to stop it?
“Hey, dude!” quickly jumping back to attention, Adrian looked at the boy in front of him, whose eyes were dancing with excitement.
“Hey, Dean!” Adrian replied, with less enthusiasm in his voice.
“What’s up? Feeling down?” Dean asked, his eyes narrowing at slight concern for his best mate.
Shaking his head slightly, Adrian did his best to force out a small smile onto his features before replying, “Nothing’s wrong. Don’t worry about it.”
Not believing his friend there for a minute, Dean just smiled a bit for his friend before speaking. “Well…whatever it is your feeling…surely the party tonight will get your moods higher than normal. That is, if you’re coming?”
“Of course I’m coming!” Adrian quickly responded, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Good! Because I heard Herald’s female cousins are planning on crashing the party tonight. And you know what that means? A new pair of legs around my waist tonight.”
“You seem pretty confident,” Adrian pointed out, looking at his smug best friend.
“Of course I am!” Dean replied. “I mean, who wouldn’t want a piece of this?” he added, gesturing to his six-pack abs under his shirt.
His moods slightly lifting up, Adrian felt a smirk slipping his face at his best friend’s confidence.
“Oi! Don’t you dare laugh at me, Robbie!” Dean quickly said, faking his offence. “Girls love this thing that I hide in my pants right now!”
Smirking, Adrian was about to retort when someone suddenly cleared their throat just beside him. “Speaking of girls…” Sam mumbled, looking at the entrance of the cafeteria.
Turning his head as well, Adrian heard all his friends snicker when they noticed who was coming inside the cafeteria. Just at the door, was Lawrence Thompson who right now…looked like he was willing to kill someone who even dared talk or go near him.
“What’s wrong with him?” he heard Sam ask just beside him.
“Maybe he got dumped by his boyfriend?” Dean suggested. “Can’t blame his faggy boyfriend either, I mean, if Thompson was a chick, and she has that grumpy attitude…Heck! We probably won’t even last for an hour!”
“You guys should really need to leave Thompson alone,” Another friend of theirs, Alex advised. “We don’t want to get with his bad side.”
Dean though, just huffed loudly, looking at Thompson with utter disgust. “It would be a good time for me to dump my lunch at him though.”
