Chapter 5

The First Day of Hell

He wasn’t nervous. Nope, he certainly wasn’t, Adrian tried to reassure himself, taking a deep breath as he entered the building. He wasn’t nervous of meeting his ex-bestfriend now. He certainly wasn’t.

…oh fuck, he so was!

Adrian thought about what Alex told him last Friday, that Thompson had changed into a different person over the years. He figured that his best mate was right. Well, he wasn’t the only one that changed that much in the year, Adrian thought, since he, himself, had also changed drastically from being the fag’s bestfriend into one of the most popular guys over the school right now.

Thompson’s change though, was more to the negative road, from being a normal guy into an infected with the “gay virus” guy, then turning into the biggest loser and ridicule of the whole school.

They were now both at the different ends on the social pyramid of their school’s hierarchy. And somehow, a crazy teacher of theirs decided that bringing both of them in the same room together was some really good idea.

For his teacher it was probably an awesome notion.

For him it was first another great way to ridicule the fag, only now, he just realized, that the person he was going to stay with for an indefinite amount of hours probably wanted to strangle him with his bare hands even if another person was around.

Yep. That certainly made his nerves cool down.

“Hey!”

Turning around, Adrian noticed Alex behind him. “Sup?” he asked, looking at the panting guy that just approached.

“Nothing,” Alex replied. “I just wanna ask how you’re holding up. You’ve been wiping your hands to your jeans for three times now ever since I noticed you just a minute earlier.”

Of course he’d noticed, Adrian noted. He’d give the man credits for that. His palms were sweating, an obvious sign he was nervous. Well who the fuck wasn’t? Facing a person you deemed as the biggest worthless for over a year…

It definitely spelled trouble. All over the damn place.

“Just a little nervous,” Adrian admitted.

Alex smirked at him. “Of course you are,” he said. “So where are you two gonna stay over later?”

“At Mr. Collins’s classroom,” Adrian replied. “Hopefully that’ll stop him from even trying to castrate me.”

Alex laughed at his friend’s anxiety. “Psh,” he exclaimed. “You worry too much. I’m pretty sure it won’t be that bad.”

Adrian shook his head at his friend’s nonchalance. “You seriously don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“So…today’s the start of your tutor sessions, huh?”

“ANDREA!” Lawrence jumped back in complete shock as he looked over to his side, seeing his friend smirking at him.

Rolling her eyes, Andrea looked at him as if he was a moron. “What? Don’t tell me you aren’t excited about having a one-on-one time with him after years of ignoring each other?”

“No,” Lawrence stated firmly, slamming his locker shut. “I’m not looking forward to it.”

“Well I’m sure he isn’t either,” Andrea muttered under her breath.
