Here I sit, on a Saturday morning at the park looking up at the sky above me. Thinking of all that had happened to me just three months back. Wondering why it was them that left. Why god chose them of all people. They had done nothing wrong. So, why? Why were they chosen to be the ones to have their lives cut shorter than they had expected? And why was I chosen to be left alone without them? They were all I had and they were taken away from me. I started to tear up as the anger and sadness was too much. My toughts were soon cut off by my phone ringing.

"Hello? Who is this?" I questioned as I did not bother to check the caller I.D.

"Connor? It's me, Patricia. Your social worker." Ohhh.

"Oh, hi trish! What do you need?" Patricia and I are very close.

"I was calling to tell you that I have some great news!" She exclaims, excitement evident in her voice.

"Well... what is it?"

"Why don't you come down to my office and I'll tell you! I want to see your reaction!" Oh god.

"All right I'll be right there" I reply and hang up the phone, pushing myself up from the grass I was sitting on. I made my way to the bus stop as I started to think, becoming worried about the situation ahead of me.

What if I have to move in with another family? I just barely started to warm up to the one im with right now.

I thought just as the bus pulled up to the stop.

"Welp, we'll just have to wait and see I guess." I mumble to myself as I step on to the large vehicle.

▪at the office▪

I walk into the building that I have come to familiarize myself with, making my way to Patricia's office. As I walk down the familiar hallway, I take a moment to go into the lounge to get myself some water as I feel slightly anxious about what is going to happen. Then, I continue my journey to her office.

"Hey trish what's up?" I ask as I enter the room and take a seat, slightly concerned with the situation.

"Well, connor, as you know, you were put in foster care until we found some relatives that would be able to take you in." She says, having trouble containing her smile.

"Yes, I know." I state, eyeing her suspiciously. This seems a little sketchy.

"Well we found some and your moving in with them at the end of the month!" She exclaims, clapping her hands in happiness.

"WHAT!" I cry, instantly standing from where I was seated.
