We will now be holding monthly Micro Competitions!

What's that? Well, in this case, a micro is a piece of flash fiction that has *300* words or less. It's small, so it doesn't take a large amount of time to write or read. It can also be challenging to write a complete scene in so few words, thus why they are perfect for competitions.

On the first day of each month a prompt will be posted. You will then have three weeks from that date to submit your entry--posts after that deadline will not be judged. Remember, it cannot exceed three hundred words or you will be disqualified. It doesn't have to be exact, so any number below that threshold will be accepted.

How To Enter

When you've finished your entry, simply post a link to your story in the comment section of the relevant contest chapter within this book--example: if it's your response to Prompt One, you would post it in that comment section.

You may enter it in a contest book, but it that case the chapter must be dedicated us or we must be tagged inline. That's to ensure we know which entry is for this contest.

These competions are members only. So as long as you're following us, you may enter. We will be checking to see whether or not you are.

Judging Criteria

You will be judged on three things, respectively:

1. How well it fits the prompt

2. Creativity

3. Grammar

The top three, as well as one honorable mention, will be chosen according those guidelines.

Prizes

The biggest prize is bragging rights.

Also, the winners will be announced in this book, as well as to all followers (exposure!). The winner of First Place will get the contest section they won dedicated to them.

Bigger prizes to come in later competitions.
