Well, in short, my new future is in a few words. First of all, I’m a god, and so is my friend (but sometimes enemy, since we’re supposed to fight). It’s been taking a while to get used to the fact that I’m a god, but I’m learning to get it. Secondly, my dad, Apollo, went to visit my ‘mom’ and tell her that it was time to let go, since I had figured out what was really going on. She was crying, and I was on the verge. I promised that I’d keep in touch, but it was hard to see the person I had thought was my mother help me pack up my room. It’s been hard, in that aspect.

Oh, and another thing. I packed up my room and all my stuff so that I could go and live on Olympus with my real family, the gods. As in Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Hades, Hestia, Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Persephone, except Hades is never on Olympus, and Persephone is there half the time.

Jack’s coming too, since he’s the other Son of Olympus. He called me and told me what had been going on in his life since we got back from the Garden of the Hesperides, and told Mr. Jim at camp. He, like myself, was having a hard time with his ‘mom’. That’s right, we share the same mother, but different dads. That would be Delia, goddess of heroes and protection. I guess this isn’t really a few words, but it needs to be said so you can catch up.

It’s been about six months since we got back from the Garden, and our quest. Kate, Zach, and Arlia have been having a really hard time with facing the facts. Katie Bright, she’s another one of my friends from the Demeter cabin, and Zoë Shield, a girl from the Athena cabin, heard the news right after Jack and I told everything to Mr. Jim. I could tell they were having mixed emotions; should they be glad, or upset?

If I were them, I probably wouldn’t be too happy.

                Now, to continue.

Mr. Jim allowed Jack and I to stay at camp until everything was sorted out on Olympus. He knew where Olympus was, but wasn’t allowed to tell us. I wasn’t sure why, since I’d be living there for the rest of my life, but he held true to the Camp H.O.O.P code. Most of the other kids at camp either asked me for my autograph, or stayed away from me. That was horrible, kids ignoring me. I mean, I’d only been born a few hundred years after Apollo, Delia, and Hermes, and then was somehow ‘killed’ in the Trojan War, and then Hades decided to reincarnate us in 2010. What’s wrong with that?

“Paul, do you feel any different?” Zoë asked me, as she flipped though some books in the Athena cabin. I had been too busy playing with metal gadgets to hear her at first, but then I turned to her desk.

“No, I’m fine.” I paused. “Why would I feel any different?”

                Zoë shrugged.

“I don’t mean physically,” she sighed, “I mean mentally. This is such a shock, I thought that maybe you felt differently.”

“Oh,” I shrugged stupidly. “I don’t think so. I mean, I think and act the same, I treat people the same way…”

“Okay.” Zoë sighed again, a deeper sigh. “It’s just…all this time, you’ve been a god? You’re supposed to fight Jack for eternity, the rest of us will eventually die off-” Zoë’s face flushed suddenly. Don’t be stupid and think I mean the toilet.

“I wonder if I can grant immortality,” I said, thinking I was muttering to myself, but I guess Zoë heard me.

“You can’t go around giving every person you care about immortality, Paul. Besides,” Zoë blushed again, “you need to talk about it with the Council first.”
