Chapter 8

Last night was epic! Me and my girls had soooo much fun! I also met a guy who was beyond amazing. I gave him my number but I didn't know if he was going to text me or what so I just cherished the moment last night in case I never bumped into him again.

Now it was time for me to face Shawn because I seriously need help with Calculus. Sigh

"Room 4B please." I said to the librarian as she got the key then directed me to the tutoring room.

I knocked lightly on the door.

"Hey there. Have time to tutor a girl who really needs to get a good grade in Calculus?" I stated with a shy smile.

He looked up at me, surprised that I was actually there.

"Heaven? I thought you were avoiding me. Sure I can help you."

"Well I was sorta avoiding you. I needed some space and time to think about things."

"Well it's cool. I guess I understand.Anyway, let me see your notes."

As Shawn explained the various Calculus concepts to me I immediately felt guilty for avoiding him. He was such a nice guy and he was really smart. He didn't move on from one topic until he was completely sure that I understood.

After tutoring, we went for that pizza we were supposed to get a few weeks ago.

"So how have things been with you?" He asked.

"Things are okay I guess. What about you? How's your baby?" I asked, thinking I shouldn't have added that last part.

"I'm good and so is Cali."

"That's your daughter's name? That's really pretty."

"Thank you. Things haven't been well with Cali's mother and I though. She's been acting really sneaky lately and something isn't right. I don't trust her at all."

"So can I ask you a question? How did you 2 get together in the first place? I mean, because you seem like you really can't stand her."

"Well I'm the captain of the basketball team and she's the head cheerleader. So it would only be right if we got together. But umm we would always chill together after games and when we had away games me and her usually spent the night together. She was really cool but a little annoying at times. But I heard something from one of my boys that she was lovin the crew. So sadly for me, I just decided to be the bigger person and take care of her daughter when she claimed that I was the father."

"Wow. So there's a possibility that you may not be the father and you're okay with taking care of someone else's child?"

"Well I'm thinking about doing a DNA test next month."

We talked a little more and hope in me and Shawn becoming a couple was restored.

As I was chilling in my room binge watching Orange Is The New Black, my new fave show my phone vibrated.

Unknown number: Hey love. You still have me trippin from how much fun last night was.

Me: Hey there. I was beginning to think you would never text me.

Now that I knew who it was that texted me I typed his name in my phone as Heemy.

Heemy: Now why would you think that? Of course I'll text back a beautiful girl like you.

Me: Awww you think I'm beautiful lol :P

Heemy: Lol I know you hear that all the time.

Me: Not ALLLL the time but very frequently ;)

Heemy: Lol ok love. Let's go on a date.

Me: Hmmm I'll see if I can squeeze you into my schedule. When and where?

Heemy: Tomorrow night at Rajdhani. I can pick you up. Just text me the directions tomorrow.

Me: Ok. See you tomorrow.

Heemy: Goodnight love

"Who has you smiling like this girl?"

Christina asked with attitude as her and Rami walked in.

"Yea. You still haven't told us about your little date after tutoring today." Rami chimed in.

"Well I was smiling at Raheem's texts and the date was good. I have one with Raheem tomorrow." I said, trying not to make eye contact with them.

Girlllllll what? Look at you being all scandalous." Christina laughed.

Rami just shook her head.

"Do you guys think I'm wrong?" I asked with sad puppy dog eyes.

"Of course not. Dating 2 guys is completely normal. No one's feelings will ever get hurt." Rami said sarcastically.

I just rolled my eyes.

"Lol Rami you're so harsh. Heaven, which one of these guys do you really like?" Christina asked, seeming more understanding of my situation.

"Girl I don't know. I barely know Raheem and Shawn said there's a possibility that the baby may not be his so that's a good thing." I said.

"Well go on the date with Raheem, feel him out a bit and then make your decision." Christina stated.

"Okay but what should I wear????"

"Hey love. You look beautiful." Raheem greeted me and gave me a hug.

"Thank you." I said blushing.

I had on a blue jumpsuit with some platform heels and Christina beat my face for the gods so I knew I looked fine. Raheem wore a button down plaid shirt with True Religion jeans and white Nikes. He was so fine with his light brown complexion and light green eyes and his wild twist out.

 My friends back in Nassau always used to tell me not to trust light skins but I couldn't resist this handsome guy. 

When I thought about it, Shawn and Raheem were the complete opposite. Shawn had a smooth dark chocolate complexion with dark brown eyes and he kept his his hair nicely cut. Both of them had something special about them although they were completely different so it was obvious that I didn't have a type.

Raheem and I had a great time at dinner. We went to a fancy Indian restaurant called Rajdhani. We both had Indian rotis and it was yummy.
We opened up to each other and talked about our lives. He said that he used to go to Syracuse but he transferred for better opportunities with his basketball career. When I told him that I was a Bahamian his eyes opened up in excitement. He told me his mother was a Bahamian but she met his father while she was off to school and they just stayed in the United States.  I told him about my life but the only thing I failed to mention was that I didn't have a heart.......

Finding out that he had some Bahamian blood in him made me like him even more.

After tonight I was beyond confused. Shawn and Raheem were both great guys. I had no idea which one I liked more. Sigh...
