(;v; It's been so long! Well... here you go, update. FINALLY.)
Makoto's POV
Makoto was going through another regular day as a doctor. Check in, check what's scheduled for today, and everything else. It was pretty normal. Unless you remembered the part where some detectives had showed up to ask him questions... So maybe not all too average.
He had been recalling the investigation almost all day, getting distracted... Like the stoic man with the pretty blue eyes...
"Um... sir?" asked the boy that was to be his patient.
"O-oh, sorry..." Makoto apologized, shaking his head to clear the thoughts.
---
It was pretty late when Makoto was walking home from work, but the streets were still busy and the city was lit with bright signs and lights. He smiled cheerily as he walked along the sidewalk past the hospital that he worked in. He walked along peacefully until he reached the graveyard he passed each night. The graveyard he had found the body... Makoto shuddered at the memory.
He paused and gazed out at all the graves that were there as his smile faded. And for a few minutes, he just stood there in silence, oblivious to the dark, bustling city that seemed so far away at the moment.
These graves... each of them... have a body buried beneath. The body of a person... who had a life once. What kind of lives did they lead? Who were they?
He was stuck in thoughts when suddenly, there was an arm wrapped around his neck. And before he could struggle, a rag was placed against his mouth and nose. The rag smelled of chemicals.... And only a few seconds after that, the world around Makoto began to fade.
---
Makoto woke in a room that was pitched black. He blinked in a bleary confusion before the room came back into focus.
Scratch that.
Makoto's vision continued to shift in and out of focus. He could barely make out his surroundings. All he could feel was the pain in the back of his neck and the ropes that bound his wrists and legs to the chair that he was sitting on.
What happened? Where am I?
All the brunette could remember was walking home from the hospital that he worked at.... He was just at the graveyard... but he couldn't remember anything after that.
Why does my head and neck ache?
That was the moment he realized that the stinging were several shallow wounds. Makoto attempted to move his hands and struggled against his binds, but couldn't as the knots were tight.
Whoever tied this was really good at knotting, I'll give them that...
A person stepped into the room. The brunet couldn't see the person, only hear the footsteps.
"I see you're finally awake..." a masculine voice coming from the direction of the person said. "Hmm, am I going to have fun with you~"
The man's voice alone sent shivers up Makoto's spine. "Wh-who are you...?" he asked. "And what do you want from me?"
"Oh, you'll see..." the voice said. "You talk too much for my liking. Knock him out again," he ordered.
Makoto tensed as another set of footsteps came from the back of the room and slowly progressed towards him. Once again, a rag forcefully suffocated him, making him breath in the chemicals on the cloth.
"Sweet dreams..." was all Makoto heard before he was once again immersed into unconsciousness.
