After the pair get into the police car, they see the police officers storm the building, allowing a man to run out, and another behind him. The man walks to the car Scott had just hit, then walks to the police car, releasing him with a scowl on his face. It's obvious that the man was just wanting someone's day to go better than his own. The two introduce themselves, along with their two companions. Freak and Chris go to their own car, John and Scott head to theirs. The problem is Scott wrecked the car so horribly, there's no way he'd get it running by himself. He heads over to Chris' car, then asks for a ride, after a minute Chris tells them to get in the trunk. It didn't please the two, but they were still happy to get away. Only after these moments had Chris realized the shooting from the house had stopped, then came a flying corpse out the window that had hit a small fire hydrant nearby, seeing this had to have triggered that small voice in everybody's head that whispers "Run, run, and do it now!" After Chris drives away, in quite a rush, the group head into a small forest trail they know to lead them to a small cabin.
