Yoongi's POV
I walked by the stairs and saw Hye Rin on the floor, her head stained with blood.
"Hye Rin!" I shouted before rushing over to her side.
Her face was sweating and her eyes were a swollen. I quickly picked her up and carried her outside.
"Yoongi! What's wrong?" Jungkook ran to me.
"I don't know. She just fainted. She hit her head too. Call for the ambulance." I quickly replied.
Namjoon called. I anxiously waited to hear the siren.
"Don't worry Hye Rin, it'll be okay." I said tucking her hair behind her ears.
I saw Seokjin and Namjoon exchange soft grins.
Mi Yon came up to us and looked unalarmed despite the bloody Hye Rin in my arms. She looked more concerned about my closeness with Hye Rin rather than Hye Rin's wellbeing. I saw her glare at the poor girl in my arms at the corner of my eye. I didn't care too much for it since my main focus was on Hye Rin.
The ambulance came in about 15 minutes. I almost yelled at the driver for taking so long to get here but realized that I shouldn't waste time. I carried her tiny figure onto the stretcher.
A couple of minutes later and we arrived at the hospital. I expected Hye Rin to immediately go with a doctor and get inspected but she had to stay in the waiting room.
"There was an accident on Incheon bridge so we are getting packed with patients. I'm sorry but you will have to wait. The temporary patch should hold off the bleeding till we can stitch her properly," the doctor explained before quickly rushing off to the emergency room.
"Where is she! Is she okay?" I heard Hye Rin's older brother come in to the hospital with worry and exhaustion written all over his face.
"Taek, she's okay. They put a temporary patch on her cut but she isn't getting inspected due to an accident at Incheon." I explained.
"That's bullshit, wait." Taek said before making a phone call. I couldn't make out everything he said but I did hear the words, "right now", and "CEO of Hana Financial Group".
He soon returned.
"What did you do?" Taehyung asked.
"I just called a couple of people I knew." Taek replied looking around.
A couple of minutes later, I saw the employees rush to the entrance and bow.
"Ah there he is." Taek said before approaching an elderly man who I assumed was the director due to the bodyguards surrounding him.
"I apologize that we didn't treat Ms.Song any sooner." He said bowing, "As an apology, I will personally take care of her."
Taek and the director exchanged a few words as me and the boys stared in amazement.
Wow, the rich really do live differently.
*****
We waited for a couple of hours. I expected the boys to leave but surprisingly, they stayed.
"We know how much she means to you," Taehyung said.
"Yeah, we're not leaving," Jimin added.
The rest of the boys nodded in agreement.
"What do you mean you're not coming? Your daughter is in the hospital and you won't come because of a conference!" I heard Taek yell into his cellphone.
He lowered his voice after seeing the amount of attention he gained. He soon returned frustrated.
"Our parents aren't going to come. They're too busy." He said annoyingly.
"What? They aren't coming? This is their daughter." I said.
"Yoongi, you have to understand this world. Parents put work over family." Taek explained.
I was going to argue but saw the doctor approaching us.
"Ms.Song is fine. We have stitched the wound and stopped the bleeding. I just have a couple of questions to ask. How did she get her cut?" The director asked.
"Um, I saw her grip onto the handle and then she fell down the stairs. Her face was sweating, and her eyes were swollen." I quickly answered.
"Ah, Mr. Taek, looking at her medical records, it looks like she had very serious cases of migraines. Have those been returning?"
Migraines?
"Yes, the other day, she was assigned a weekly dose of pills to cure the recent ones." Taek explained.
Pills?
"And it says here the causes of those migraines were stress?"
"Yes. Our parents are extremely strict when it comes to studies especially with Hye Rin since she's the youngest. " Taek hyung said.
"Any other possible causes?" The director asked.
"I don't know. Um...oh! The other night, Hye Rin came home crying and wouldn't explain it. All she said was, 'why are people so frustrating,' and 'why can't he see through the Mi Yon and realize I'm telling the truth', but I have no idea who this Mi Yon girl is. That night, her headaches returned. She stayed up all night pretending she was fine but I could hear her frustration and cries through the walls," Taek said.
Cries? See through Mi Yon? Those words haunted my mind.
Images of Hye Rin screaming by her desk flashed my mind.
Images I never want to see again.
So she was telling the truth all along? I'm such an idiot.
A complete idiot.
