Lordly Love

Chapter 2- Comforting Love

The Doctor landed the TARDIS on his favorite beach planet. It's always deserted and absolutely beautiful. He decided that the first person to bring here was going to be the Master, not even Rose was special enough to bring here. Of course, the Doctor thought, as soon as I realized I loved her, she was gone forever. A tear dripped down his cheek to his chin at the thought.

"What's wrong Doctor?" asked the Master.

"Oh, nothing. Just had a thought about Gallifrey." he said, wiping the tear away.

"Well, I can't have sad Doctor. Come here." the Master said hugging the Doctor around the waist from behind and gently placed his chin on the Doctor's shoulder, or attempted to, considering the height difference. "It'll be fine, Rose loves you. But you'll never have a chance to love her back. That's why I'm here. The one companion you can't get rid off."

The Doctor slowly turned to face the Master. They looked at each other for a couple seconds before the Doctor gave in to his emotions. He wrapped his arms the Master and buried his face in the Master's neck.

They stood there for a while until the Doctor pulled his face out of the Master's neck. He set his forehead on the Master's shoulder and voiced a thought he never thought he'd ever say.

"I love you."

"I love you too Doctor."
