The problem wasn't solved. It got worse.
Apparently, Victoria forwarded the picture to all her friends, and they forwarded it to the rest of the school population.
"How'd you meet?"
"What's his name?"
"What school does he go to?"
Over and over again, the same questions. It was like they were the reporters and I was the new talk of the town."Ms. Hazel, you know you're late, right?" I stared in disbelief at my French teacher. Did she not know what was happening out there? I would be exaggerating if I said there was a crowd, but there were definitely some students prying into my life.
"Je suis désolée, Madame Rhines." I apologized and sat at the front row as usual.
"Bonjour mon classe!" She said. And with that, my first period lesson started.

A yawn escaped my mouth, loud and clear, tired from losing sleep due to stress and worry."Why, aren't you a happy camper." Morton chirped into my ears.
"Don't even start, M.K." I massaged my temples and stretched. Most of the time, I have to walk to the Academy, to get the minimum amount of exercise I usually do. This time, I went on the bus because of how tired I was.
"Seems like you didn't get much sleep too." Morton strolled forward, turning to give me a smile.
He started talking about his plans for the upcoming dance.
"Why don't you go and ask Mathew to be your date directly?" I smirked at him, getting him to blush."No way! That's impossible." Morton always acted like there was more to it than there really was. Mathew was a sweet guy and he was single. I was almost completely positive that he'd accept Morton's invitation.
"How do you know I won't have a heart attack right then and there?"
I laughed him off. "Because you don't have a heart problem, dimwit."
"True." He thought for about a minute before speaking again.
"But what if-"
"You better not die before me. If you do, I'll haunt you for the rest of your afterlife." I gave him a glare to make sure he knew I wasn't lying.
"You're scaring me right now." He laughed a little and looked straight ahead.
I tilted my head and stared at him a little. He was somewhat anxious today and it weirded me out. He was normally the carefree one out of the three of us. Maybe the dance thing was really getting to him.
Meghan didn't report to the cafeteria today, and there was nobody to stop the squirming people trying to get answers from me about my dating life.
"We've been friends since elementary school, and we thought we had good chemistry, so we started dating." I kept lying like it was second nature.
"His name's Aaron Cole." Whenever I said his last name something stirred in me. I didn't understand myself. It was uncomfortably easy to talk about him even though I didn't know him.
"No, I was surprised. He was pretty scrawny in middle school. He started growing more in high school." If I had taken the drama course, I would've aced it.
