The sky wasn't blue. Nor was it black.
It was a mixture of different purples with streaks of pink. The clouds were coloured orange and yellow with the hint of a shooting star here and there.
No, it wasn't a sunset. It was just the sky. No space, no birds, no sun and no moon.
In other words... it was extraordinary.
A world no other has ever seen. It was only created.
This world felt inhabited. Untouched. Like a diamond in the ground; so bright and radiant yet still unfound, just waiting to be dug out and sold at a high price.
But this was much different. Worth much more than a rock buried in the ground.
It was a world that was created.
A world created by me.
My eyes wondered to my surroundings.
Vast amounts of pure white feathers fell from the sky endlessly. Birds were found flying underwater while fish were found swimming in the air. The sound of a piano and a violin played in the background softly with no one to dance nor listen to it. Rivers of juice flowed into the ocean and bite-sized cookies grew like flowers from the grass-bedded ground.
An abnormal world that was normal. More normal and ordinary than no other.
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
I was startled to have someone appear beside me and speak so calmly.
"Who are you?" I asked in confusion. How is it possible for someone other than myself to come to this sanctuary.
It was a boy. He seemed to be no older and no younger than I was. He had soft grey eyes, disheveled sandy hair and a smile that screamed 'insanity.'
"I was hoping you could tell me."
My confusion doubled as my eyebrows dipped and my eyes squinted. "You don't know your own name?"
"No, but for some reason, I know yours; Wendy."
"How do you know my name?"
His smile pulled into a taunting smirk causing a dimple to appear making him look more insane. "Oh my poor, Wendy." He chuckled. "Do you not remember me?"
"I thought you didn't know who you were yourself."
"It's because you forgot about me."
"And why is that?"
"Because it would be less painful."
I watched as a clown fish floated by and I frowned deeply. "What do you mean?"
I was surprised when he slipped his hand into mine, never once dropping his smirk. Excitement was evident in his grey eyes and he started to laugh as if laughing at the face of danger. Maybe he really is insane.
"In this world, Wendy, we are invincible. We are immortal; unharmed and evergreen. We are currently standing hand in hand in the centre of oblivion. Where no one knows who we are or what we do. It's just us right now in this extraordinary place." His grey eyes reflected the purple sky and white shooting stars as his smirk slowly went back to a smile. "This is our world, Wendy. A world we are forever lost in. A world created for just me and you. A world where there is no time limit and where we will continue our days, watching the fish swim in the sky and the birds fly in the water. I will never let you go. Not again."
I looked down at our entwined hands and watched as a drop of water landed on my thumb. Is was then that I realised, that I was crying.
The boy used his free hand to wipe my tears away with the smile never leaving his face.
