Chapter 4
A familiar voice erupted into the room. It was Mrs. Stuart. She was clothed in a lavender dress and had a chic look to go with it. What was she trying to say? She couldn't be part of this could she?
"Yes. It was I that coaxed dear Ace into killing your parents. Although you weren't supposed to come out alive but nevertheless we can take care of that problem right now"
"But why would you do such a thing...This is unlike you Mrs. Stuart"
"Well you see, child, your dad was a witness of a deal that I was having with one of my um..." She paused. "Clients...And as I didn't want word to go around and knowing how important it is to keep up good appearances around these parts... as they say 'two can keep a secret if one of them is dead' well in your case that'll be two." she said with the most sinister laugh that made my blood crawl. "I didn't want to take any chances"
She looked over at Ace who was quietly listening in his corner.
"Dear Ace was supposed to do that for me in exchange for money and a new bike. But I didn't know he would fail miserably by purposely letting you live"
"How could you...you...you monster! You won't get away with this!" I shouted as I grab my chest, it felt like it was being punctured by something sharp, it became too painful to breathe.
"Oh hush, if you only knew besides it's just business dear. Don't take it personally or maybe you should, either way you're just a pesky human, that's causing me more problems then you're worth." She said this as her eyes reflected disgust. That's weird, why had I not notice that? Her usual green eyes where now more gold than they were green. What is going on here?
"I'm really sorry Cyan." Ace said with pain laced in his voice.
"Hush up you fool! You piece of rubbish" She scolded. "Help me get rid of the girl."
"N-no" he said a little unsure of himself.
"What did you say?" she said as if to make sure that her hearing was still in check. Suddenly I couldn't feel my legs, my whole body began to become numb.
"You heard me I refuse to let you hurt her any more than you already have." And with that said he raced to my side and tried to help, he also informed me that she might have drugged me right before I woke up. That would explain the numbness.
There was a loud 'bang' and before I knew it Ace doubled over in pain, despite all the numbness I felt I could still hear the heaving breaths, Ace took. Then I heard a laugh, sounded more like a victory laugh if you asked me.
"One down, one more to go." she sang as her face stretched into a smudged grin that made her look tree times more evil than she already looked.
"You'll get what's coming to you, sooner than you think" I said as I struggled to move but failed miserably. Aware that my time was soon up, I decided to go out with a 'bang', why not mess with her? She's already messed up in the head.
"So what makes you think that nobody will know about the little scheme you pulled?" I said as I listened for Ace, he was breathing but his breaths were becoming shallower by the minute.
"Everyone's going to know about the dirty little wrinkly hag that you are, you will..." I trail off as I felt something go through me, it was fast but painful, it felt like a bomb went off inside of my chest.
I looked up and there she was standing at point-blank range with a .22″ magnum revolver.
"Thank you." I told her with a pained smile due to the amount of pain I was in, I managed to turn my head towards Ace's now limp body to see that he was gone, no longer breathing. I said to myself 'I'm coming buddy'.
"For what!?" She spat like venom.
"For just giving the police a mouthful and not forgetting a beautiful show." I said trying to be sarcastic. I warned Mr. Fiorentino that I'll get the job down if he didn't.
"Maybe you haven't noticed but technology is running the world now my dear Mrs. Stewart... and if you'll just turn to the corner on you right and say hi to my friend, Mr. camera, I just got him hocked up, for security reasons and turns out, I did good..." suddenly I began coughing violently, breathing started to become too hard. Time was at the essence.
"You little..." was the last thing I heard before I drifted off into the darkness.
And there it was again, that familiar voice.
"It's not your time."
Ah, come on. I mean how much do they pay this guy. Does he ever take a break?
