"Ready to go?" She asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"I'll drive, toss me those keys," I grabbed her car keys and threw them to her.

She ran into the hall.

"Hey I'm taking the car, I'm going somewhere," she said to her sister.

"I'll give you the keys, hold on," her sister said.

"Already have them," she said smiling. She grabbed her backpack that was on the top of the stairs and ran down to the kitchen.

"Do I follower her, or?" I said to her sister.

"Um hi, who are you?" Her sister gave my a look.

"Nolan." I said nodding.

"Are you dating my sister?" She asked.

"No..." I said.

"Too bad. A cute boy with messy hair and bright eyes. Just her type. Where are you guys going?"

"Too the fair, you're welcome to join," I said half heartedly.

"I can't because I really don't want to, sorry. Maybe another time. Or not. Be nice to my sister, have her home at an appropriate time, and don't let her do anything stupid. Bye bye pretty eyes." She said, she waved and closed her bedroom door in my face. I hurried down the stairs.

I got to her car, nirvana was playing and she threw her bag on the back seat behind her.

"Alright, quick stop before this fair thing." She said, she smiled mischievously.

"Ok." I said, slightly worried where we were going.

15 minutes later we got to an old diner, it looked like a party was inside. Lights flashed out the windows. We exited the car, she grabbed her bag and my wrist and led me inside. Let me clarify. She didn't romantically grab my hand and lightly lead me to the back entrance, she yanked my wrist and arm and ran as I stumbled behind her.

"Are we seeing a band," I said, I looked around. We were probably in a backroom, there was a small stage and a drum set. There were two mics  and people were standing around talking and drinking out of to-go plastic cups.

"Yeah, you are. Be right back." She ran in another direction. I stood there lamely.

A few minutes later, a stoner looking guy grabbed a mic. "How's everyone doing tonight?" He said. The crowd howled. I checked my phone. It was almost 12. The fair ended at 1:30. I didn't really care about the fair in that moment though.

Next the rest of them ran out on stage. 2 girls, 2guys, and one of those 2 girls was wearing a black  tank top and a short plaid mini skirt. She matched the others, but they all had on different outfits that showed who they were. She had on black converse and light pink lipstick. Her hair shimmered and she looked happier than I had ever seen her. She smiled at me, I gave her a surprised nod. She leaned off the stage a little and I ran up to the front as they were all getting ready.

"Your in a band?" I asked.

"Kinda, they needed a girl singer, we can go to the fair after this, it'll only take like 7 minutes." Cara smiled.

They sung a few covers and the crowd was crazy. Cara was mainly doing a duet the whole time with the guy that looks like a stoner. She has an amazing voice, I didn't want her to stop. They ended and she jumped off the stage.

"Ready to go?" She asked.

"Wow, um yeah," was all I could manage to say.

"Kid, you did great, see you next week?" The stoner guy asked. He threw her the backpack that has her clothes in it.

"Totally. Dan, this is Nolan, Nolan this is Dan." I shook hands with him.

"Sup bruh, this little lady has a killer set of vocal cords huh? You lucked out man." He patted Cara on the back. She smiled awkwardly.

"He's not my boyfriend yet." She said. She yanked me to the door again and dragged me to the car, both of us laughing.

We got to the fair, and ran in. There were multicolored lights glowing everywhere, and the smell of popcorn covered the air. People screaming on roller coasters and you could hear the bells from people winning those stupid little games. I got in line to get us cotton candy.

"Ugh I'm staving perfect," she said ripping a piece of the top.

"Wanna go on the fairest-wheel?" I asked.

"As long as we can take the cotton candy." She said. We got in line and jumped on a blue cart.

"You can see everything from here." She said. I grabbed my phone.

"I'm taking a picture," I said. I snapped one of her.

"No delete that I wasn't ready." She said as I snapped some more.

"No!" I took another

"No! No!" She screamed I laughed till she started laughing so hard that she was almost crying. She tried to wrestle my phone out of my hand. We got to the bottom and stumbled laughing out of the cart.

"Alright we should get home now." She said.

"One more thing," I said walking over to a game booth where you have to throw the darts to pop the balloons to win a prize. I bought 6 darts, and nailed each of them into a balloon.

"What prize do you want? You can pick from any row." A teenager behind the booth asked.

"The huge teddy bear." I said. He handed it to me and I handed it to her.

"Thanks." She said, trying to hide that she was blushing. She yawned.

We got to the car and she rubbed her eyes smudging her makeup.

"Let me drive, your going to fall asleep and kill us." I said.

"No," she said.

"Yes," I laughed.

"Ok," she yawned. She go in the passenger side and snuggled up with the obnoxiously big teddy bear. She fell asleep in seconds as I drove us home.

"We're here," I said, waking her up.

We both got out of the car and stepped on to the drive way. I handed her the keys.

"I had a lot of fun. Thank you Nolan." She said.

"Any time." I said. "Your a pretty good singer too."

"Yeah, never tell my parents about that." She said laughing in tiredness hysteria.

"Can you babysit Riley on Wednesday, we have to practice and my parents will be gone that night, so?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm free." I lied. I guess I'll just have to move some stuff around. You know nothing big, like football practice or anything. Cause that's not important. At all.

"One more thing," I said stepping close to her. I then leaned in and put my hand on her cheek. "Good night kiss?" I asked. My brother refers to this as my signature move. I'm not sad to say this has worked on countless girls. She looked deep into my eyes. She bit her lip and leaned in.

"...No." She turned and walked away laughing, the giant teddy bear was being held over her head.
