Sirens fill the air making me jolt up in my seat. All of the memories of the last few days fill my head until I notice I was the only person in the jeep. Shawn. Where was he? I started to panic and my heart rate was beating at an abnormal pace.
I look out the windows of the jeep and I saw no evidence of Shawn. What I didn't know was that the police cars surrounding the gas station was my evidence.
As many thoughts and ideas of what Shawn could have done run through my head, he comes running out of the store, passing all of the police and hopping right into the drivers seat. He was so fast, no one could possibly catch him.
"Oh hey Valerie, awake this early eh?!" Shawn laughs, sirens still audible. Shawn takes a quick glance at the side mirror of the jeep and turns the engine on. I look at the back window, and policemen are chasing us. Well, not us but Shawn.
I am pushed back into my seat when Shawn speeds out of the crime scene. I was terrified as to what was going on, but I was too scared to even ask what was happening.
Shawn leered to the right and my head hit the window as a sharp pain in my head followed along.
After a series of sharp turns and getting thrown around in my seat, we lost the police.
"Shawn...." I start.
"Yessss?"
"Did you just seriously put me through a police chase?" I ask, still in disbelief as to what just happened. It's definitely something you wouldn't want to wake up to.
"Not only did I put you through it, but I got you out of it." Shawn winked in a devious way. God, he was hot. Valerie no he isn't.
"And you're the one who put me in it! Shawn, if this is what trusting you is then I don't think I want to. What the hell did you even do?!" I exclaim as agitation starts fulfilling my chest.
Shawn then flapped open his leather jacket (which by the way, looked really nice on him) and revealed candies and a pack of cigarettes.
"Baby, I was serious when I said lets go rob that place." He laughed hysterically, his eyes fixated on the long empty road.
"This is not funny at all! You could've just bought that with the loads of money you brought! And don't call me baby, I am not your baby!" I retort, slumping into my chair once again.
"I'll call you by the names I want and I'll steal the things I want and I'll most definitely laugh when I want to."
"Is this what you mean by, 'people chase after the things they want.'? Because if that's so, I don't like the way you think." I declare.
Valerie, you don't like the way he thinks, you love it.
I shake that thought out of my head, remembering the police chase he put me through.
"Okay, we won't rob stores anymore, how does that sound?" Shawn asks, in attempt to try to soothe the tense air.
"That sounds normal and that's what I want to be: normal." I sigh in relief.
"Okay good, we will just rob banks from now on."
"SHAWN." I blurt only causing Shawn to laugh harder than ever and I couldn't help but laugh along.
"Wow, it's only eight in the morning and you've robbed a store, escaped the police, and convinced me to still go along with your plans? You're truly magic." I laugh as Shawn does the same.
I take a moment to examine this side of Shawn. His jawline was so sharp, my eyes could probably get cut from just staring. His cheeks always seemed to be flushing with a faint pink and it brought out his vampire-pale skin. His eyebrows laid right upon the most beautiful pair of eyes I've ever seen. How could a lovely boy like him, who appeared so friendly at first, be so...bad?
