I woke up too my alarm blaring. I haven't gotten up this early in three months due to summer break, not counting Sundays or the occasional work days. I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, surrounded by darkness. My ceiling was decorated with three crosses, one for my grandpa, who died in a car accident, one for my mom, who died in a mission trying to save my brother sister and me when i was in 6th grade, and one for my sister. One for everyone close to me who had died. On each cross I taped a picture of their faces.
The light flickered on, burning my eyes, it was my dad, " Wake up Parker don't want to be late for the first day of school!!" I looked at him with a forced smile, these days that's the best I can give him. " Love you dad," I groaned as I rolled out of bed. He gave me a soft hug and went to go wake up Chanler, my older brother, who will be a senior.
I dragged my self to my closet to pick out my cloths. I put on my white v-neck, purple flannel, blue jeans and black Chuck Taylor high tops. Then I went to the bathroom. My body still felt heavy, it felt like a work out just to put the light on. I glared at my reflection, I looked like a mess. I had dark brown hair stuck to my lips and it was sticking up all over the place. I had a foul taste in my mouth and dried drool leading down my chin onto my wrist. Chanler knocked on the door and let himself in, he looked like a zombie also. We sat in silence wile we washed our face and did our hair, same routine every morning." You ready for today?" He sighed. I couldn't look at him due to the fact that i was doing my makeup, but I could tell he was tired of the silence, just like me. "I guess so, I mean its just school...." My voice trailed off. "I have to finish getting ready. See you in a bit sis." He nudged me in the shoulder with a grin and left.
I went down stairs to see dad has gotten us breakfast before he left for work. My favorite, Cinnibon and coffee in my purple travelers mug. Beside it there was a white box, Chanler's was the same. They had or name on it. "Oh no, not today" I thought as I picked up the small box. "Chanler, We have work down here!" I yelled. Pounding footsteps where heard as he came down stairs, " I'm coming!" He was wearing almost the same thing, but his flannel was blue and he had white Nike shoes on. " Really wish they didn't send stuff like this today," He sighed wile putting hair gel in his dark blond hair. I looked at him wile I sipped my coffee, "Me too, But its the life of a spy." He looked me in the eyes, as if he could see the worry in them, "Want to open them together?" I nodded my head as he reached for his box. we opened them and a note fell out, both reading the same thing:
Dear Mr. and Ms. Feild,
I'm sorry to worry you, but we wanted to tell you that you are in great danger. You know some valuable information and bad people want it. We believe somebody is after you. Be careful, these people could show up any where. What ever you do don't cause a scene. AND KEP YOURSELF SECRET. Good luck agents.
I noticed he spelt "keep" wrong, I cold tell by that he was in a hurry, witch meant we wouldn't have much time. Inside the box there was a watch, it looked like any ordinary watch, but it wasn't. It had buttons on it that activated different things, weapons and gadgets. We turned the watch on "stealth mode" and put them on. We sat down to eat our breakfast.
" What do you think 'they' are after?" I looked at Chanler wile shoving a bite of cinnamon roll in my mouth. " I don't know, and cant tell for sure if we don't know who 'they' are," he said after swallowing. I looked at him and grinned ," I bet I can drink my orange juice faster." He looked at me and smiled real big, "Oh its on" I poured us both a tall glass. We turned on the radio and the song "Gives you hell" By AAR was on. We both chugged the sour juice, and finished at the same time. The clocked read 7:30. "Get in the car, let's go," Chanler said in between laughing. We grabbed our backpacks, They where heavy, as if the where full of bricks. We got in to Chanler's 67 Chevy Impala and drove off. I had an uneasy feeling as we got to school, but I tried to ignore it. Little did I know Being a junior was going to be harder then they make it in the movies.
