It's been a week since I hung out with Calum and Luke and I can say that we've become good friends. It's nice talking to them, and since they live so close I can talk to them often even without texting or calling them.
Around new people I tend to be kind of...closed off. That's probably why I came off as rude so many times towards the boys, now that I think about it. But it's nice having two new people in my life. Calum is just....
Well. Let me see.
I'm sure it was evident before, I didn't like him.
I couldn't figure him out. It's like he knew exactly what to say to throw me off. He still does. Only now I guess I've accepted it. He's a cool friend.
But I can't allow myself to get too distracted with other people.
Grades come first.
Grades come first...-
Calum invited me to go with him to the coffee shop across campus. I texted him back to let him know I'd be up for it, and we met outside my door about 15 minutes later.
"I knew you wouldn't pass up coffee." Calum laughed.
"You know it." I said with a smile.
Something I didn't do too often.
We walked over to the shop and ordered our drinks and sat down at one of the metal tables they had set outside. The sun was out and the birds were chirping. It was pretty quiet except for the rustling of the leaves in the trees and the sound of people working inside the coffee shop. Calum looked around and noticed me doing the same.
"I'm proud of you, you know." He said with a smirk.
"What for?"
"Your getting out more!" He teased.
"Ah shut it. It's nice..."
Calum smiled at me.
He knew it though, he wasn't wrong.
It was all him and Luke that got me out, honestly.
"So, I have a question for you."
"Shoot."
"Why did you seem to like.... Hate me when you first met me?" He laughed.
I blinked hard and looked at him.
"I.... I mean, I don't know. I didn't HATE you, it's just... I don't know."
Because your funny and sweet?
Because you know exactly what to say to surprise me?
Because I just couldn't seem to figure you out?
I don't know...
I felt my face get warm and shrugged.
"I didn't hate you." I finished.
He gave me a confused look and took a drink of his coffee.
"Ah, well that's good. At least now you've finally accepted how amazing I am." He joked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Watch it, Hood. Your getting ahead of yourself now." I teased, laughing.
He pouted and I couldn't help but smile at him.
We continued to talk about random things, anything we could think of.
I found out about Calum's friends, well, his friends besides Luke. He told me they were all into the same types of music and things like that.
At one point he asked me if I liked anyone, I don't know why. But I told him I didn't. He looked kind of sad, which confused me.
I asked him if he liked anyone and his face got a bit red but he declined.
"Pft, no."
I nodded. "Ah."
We watched the birds and he brought up other topics, like bands and our personal lives. He was still trying to convince me to play guitar for him, I still declined. Too shy...
But even just hanging out with him was enough to make me smile. And now I'm happy to call him my friend.
We finished our coffees and stood up, walking around the campus filled with trees and grass.
Days like this are some of my favorite.....A/N: Sorry for the short updates, I've been trying to figure out everything for this story so updates are kind of odd as of right now.
