Byakuya
"Where is your sister, Byakuya?" Grandfather asked in a terrifying low voice. I was trying to make up an excuse but I can't. My grandfather was strict about her roaming around the Soul Society at a late hour. I am supposed to take the blame for this... again. "She... she hasn't arrived yet, Sir," I looked down avoiding his look. "Byakuya, how many times do I have t-"
" I assure you, Grandfather. She will be arriving shortly on the usual time." Did I just cut him of? "The orders that you have given me the last time did not help," I continued, trying to put on a peaceful demeanor. I really hate getting into trouble. I avoid events like these but my sister isn't helping. Grandfather just sighed, still putting a frown on his face. "Very well, I shall wait for her then."
Akane
"Goodbye, Hisana!" I waved at her as we parted ways. "See you soon!" she shouted back. It's a windy night. Before taking my path back to home, I glanced at her just for one more time. She didn't look back but I know she's smiling. We really had fun in the woods. There was barely enough light for me to trace my path back home. It was dark by the time I got home.
"Onee-chan! I'm home!" I announced outside the house. I ran along the hallway as excited as ever. "You won't believe what I just learned today, Onee-chan!" I said as I slid the door open.
"Oh." I stepped back. "Grandfather... I thought you weren't coming home til the weekend," I topped it off with a nervous grin. He and Byakuya were sipping tea when I barged in. Then he stood up before Byakuya did and told me to come in. The door slid to a close and before me stood a sight I dreaded to encounter.
"How many times do I have to tell you Akane..." his face was now engraved with anger. "As your grandfather, it is my duty to protect you, child. You and Byakuya. But you're not making this easy for both me and your brother. You are a well-known image in this family. What if you get lost or hurt outside the Sareitei, hm? Or even worse. There are Hollows lurking about even in broad daylight. You do know that, right?" The air around us just intensified. "Do not sway me again," he finished when his spiritual pressure broke out of control. I was barely kneeling on the ground. But Byakuya... Byakuya was barely gasping for air.
"Grandfather..." I said but he didn't notice.
"Grandfather...stop." Still no flinch.
Forget him. I hurled towards Byakuya. "Onee-chan!" I screamed to the top of my lungs. Then the pressure vanished around us. Byakuya and I were panting.
