It had been a few weeks after that day. The day Jungkook finally met the boy that he had been watching.
They slowly developed a friendship. One that was sort of behind the scenes. They didn't talk much during school.
After school, they would take turns visiting each other's houses. The visits consisted mostly of video games or movies. Usually Jungkook would sit in silence while Jimin blabbed on about pointless topics that he loved. Then somehow, Park Jimin would work his magic and bring out Jungkook's true self that he hid away.
Jungkook enjoyed the moments when he'd show Jimin his paintings. He never had shown anyone, which is probably why his talent went undiscovered by scholarship committees. The orange haired boy would squeal in awe and pretend to understand Jungkook's artsy talk.
These small moments are what really brought them close. What really made Jungkook like Jimin.
Today, it was Jungkook's turn to visit Jimin's house.
The raven hair boy wiggled around anxiously in his seat all day. He bit his lip and smiled to himself as he spotted a little orange fluff in the front of the classroom. Jungkook didn't mind that Jimin didn't talk to him much on school hours. All that mattered was that he'd be all his after the last bell rang.
Ring. The bell sounded loudly.
Jungkook awkwardly scrambled to grab his bag. He huffed to himself in disbelief as it got stuck to the chair. He awkwardly twisted it, finally releasing it from the desk chair's grasp. Swinging it over his back, he headed for the exit while flashing Jimin a look as he passed.
Soon he reached the pillar.
The spot where they first had officially met.
It became a sort of symbol to the two best friends. Where it all started. And where they met for their visits.
Like always, Jungkook would rest against the stone surface, putting an 'oh I don't care' face. When in reality, he did. He tried to play it cool with Jimin arrived.
"Oh- you're here." He said, trying to mask his true excitement. Jungkook was actually pretty good at hiding his feelings.
Jimin threw up a little wave and cute smile. "Yeah, I'm here, Jungkookie." He said, making Jungkook happy to hear the nickname he was given. It sounded so good coming off the other boy's plump, soft looking lips.
He loved his smaller friend's soft features that made him like a cute, floppy puppy that Jungkook wanted to cuddle. Man I have a cute friend.
Soon, the two arrived to Jimin's house. On the way, Jimin told Jungkook about how he failed his Calculus quiz and looked genuinely frustrated unlike the other popular kids who bragged about their F's. Jungkook promised to tutor him soon, even though math wasn't his strong suit.
They talked about home life. Saw some cute puppies that lived in a house not far from Jimin's. They laughed multiple times. Jimin almost tripped on a plastic bag and went on complaining about how people don't care about the Earth. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Something like that.
Once they arrived to Jimin's front door, the boy fumbled through his pockets and unlocked the door.
Jungkook appeared deep into thought about Jimin's save the Earth speech. Overthinking things like always. Especially when it came to his friend.
Jimin rolled his eyes with a laugh. "Kookie. Your face is blank again." He said, taking the other's slender hand in his. "Come inside."
Jungkook let himself be pulled in, his heart sort of skipping a beat at the touch of Jimin's soft small hands. Maybe he would tell his mom when he got home. Could be a heart murmur. Who knows.
Jimin didn't bother saying hi to his mother and pulled Jungkook upstairs at the speed of light to his bedroom. "I've been waiting to beat you at GTA V all day." He whined out loud and set up the game quickly while letting go of the younger male's hand.
"You have?" Jungkook said, blinking at the fast movements Jimin was making. He smiled widely. "Well- I'm pretty good at racing. So I wouldn't count on it."
Jimin's smirk filled up his face. "Oh really? Huh? Well that's why we are doing an aerial race." His evil chuckle seemed to echo through Jungkook's brain as he recalled all the times he would crash helicopters in the game.
"Damn you, Park Jimin."
"You know you love me, Jeon Jungkook."
Fuck. There's that damn heart murmur again. Do I have heart issues... Jungkook wondered as he felt his heart skip a beat at Jimin's words.
"P-please. I hate you." He teased back.
Jimin pretended to be all hurt and shit. Collapsing to the ground like he was shot. "Oh, Kookie. Your words. They hurt. How could you hate your bestest friend."
"Jimin, bestest isn't a word."
"Shut up and grab the controller." Jimin laughed. "I'm ready to watch you crash and fail."
Jungkook shook his head and couldn't help but smile. The funny thing was that, Jungkook was so good at hiding his feelings that he was hiding them from himself.
