That Cliche Beginning
I just arrived in New York after a long flight from Japan. It was a very cold day in New York, the Christmas season was on its way. I was booked in a hotel, for one night up till noon the next day. The company always went for a nice suite. I arrived at the hotel and seeing the Christmas decorations made me feel all warm inside. I went straight to the reception and the a woman greeted me. "Hi, how may I help you?" She asked.
"I have a reservation for Mr. Greene, Richard Greene. The reservation was from Peak." I replied politely. To tell you the truth I was a bit dizzy from the whole day of hard work. I was a bit fazed from the whole day and even add jet lag.
"Mr. Greene, we're so pleased to have you as a guest, a bottle of champagne is waiting in your room, would you like one of the staff to lead you to your suite?"
I shook my head no and she gave me my key card. I went to the elevator.
The elevator played Christmas music. It made me feel all homesick. I reach my hotel room and I tried the keycard a lot of times and it wouldn't work. There was this maintenance guy that was passing by so I called him.
"How may I help you, sir?" He asked politely.
"The keycard won't work." I said presenting him the key card.
He then pulled out his master key and helped me in. I went straight to bed and as soon as my head hit the comfy pillow, it was lights out.
I fell into a deep slumber, a dreamless sleep perhaps. I was knackered from the whole day. I had a lot of photo shoots. Don't get me wrong I love my job. Being a model was a great job. It was easy and it had an excellent pay.
Soon my slumber was disturbed by a voice.
"Hey, who are you?" He asked.
I open my eyes to meet a pair of hazel eyes, staring back. Soon I realized that this stranger was in my suite. That's when jolted up in surprise and asked.
"How'd you get in? Who are you?" I asked him. In fact I yelled at him.
"I should be the one asking that." He said.
"This is my suite. What are you doing here?" I said.
"Actually this is our suite." He points to two other guys.
Now that gave me more of a headache than the flight. I was confused. Here I was sitting on a bed in a suite that was possibly not mine.
"I'm sorry, there must've been a mix up, what room is this?" I ask trying to clear things up.
"3031." The one with the black hair says.
"Shit," I mumble lowly. "I'm sorry, my room is at 3131, I got in here cause the maintenance man got me in. I didn't steal anything if you want you can search me." I say raising both my hands up. I was already out of bed. My shirt and tie looking all disheveled. I started to gather my things so I could go off soon.
"Don't worry, man. It's ok." The brunette said, smiling.
"I'm Richard Greene, by the way."
