Catching the Damn Feelings

I was still panting. I slid out of the bed, hugging my clothes closer to my body. I go out of my room straight to the kitchen.

I'm gonna need a cup of coffee for these kinds of things. I pour myself a nice freshly made coffee. I put on my robe and headed out to the balcony. I sip a bit from my cup and lingered on the bitterness of it.

I'm in deep crap.

I stood there, just looking out to the city, waiting for dawn.

Yeah, I know it's always the city. Blah, blah, blah.

I went back to the living room, relaxing a bit, assessing my thoughts. This wasn't good. I don't know how long I was staring at the coffee table.

The door opens and he comes in.

Really?! He's the first one I see? Is the universe hearing me? Is this some kind of sick joke.

My heart beats faster. He smiles at me, his nose scrunching up a bit in the most adorable way.

"Good morning," he greets. "Why are you up so early?" He adds.

The thing I hate about him the most. Is that he stares. When he talks to you, he never takes his eyes off you. He has this look, this concerned face, this face that tells you he's really listening.

I haven't even known him for that long, but it feels like I've known him forever.

Really? Are you really this cliche, Richard?! I cannot believe you! Blame the author, for crying out loud!!

"I can't sleep." Was my short reply.

He grabs a stool and he sat in front of me. His face not that far away. He stares. He's got that look. His eyebrows furrow, lips purse. He looks at me, stares even.

"Is there something bothering you?" He asks. His eyes, his brown familiar chocolate eyes staring into mine.

"Nothing really." I avoid his gaze. My chest continues to burn, something I felt only with him. I turn away. I stood up, walking straight im to the kitchen.

"Do you want breakfast?" I ask.

"Sure." He happily accepts. He smiles that toothy grin, his eyes almost closing.

I start to fry up some eggs, brought the bacon out of the freezer, and put it in water to thaw.

Edward comes out of his room. He had this big grin on his face. His blue eyes almost twinkling.

"Good morning, lads." He says very cheerily, we reciprocate the greeting as he goes straight to the bathroom.

"Well he's cheery. Is he usually like that?" He asks skeptically.

"No actually, it's the first time he woke up all giddy." I said chuckling a bit at Edward's antics.

Edward emerges from the bathroom and giddily says, "Guess who's got a date tonight?"
