Today was the first day of my last year at Highschool. As I approached the school gates I could feel my blood rising in temperature, my palms began to sweat. 'I hate this place' I thought to myself. I didn't mean that I hated the work, I fact, I loved the eduction bit, I hated the early mornings and early nights, the lonely days at this place, the bullying, the teasing, the doctors appointments to see if I had gotten 'any better'. I hated this place. As I entered the school I looked around at my classmates and how they had changed over the summer, then I seen an unfamiliar face. It was a face full of mystery. I stopped staring and instead walked over to the very few friends I had left. Nothing new had happened with them but I thought I would check in on them as they hadn't spoken to me all summer, although I couldn't stop thinking about that girl I seen earlier but before I had a chance to theorise it I was ripped from my thoughts and thrown back into reality when I heard Bethany screaming at the top of her lungs "Francis, Francis, Francis!", I looked behind me where I was greeted by Bethany and, yep you guessed it, the mysterious girl. "Have you met Maisie!" "Um, no I haven't yet had th-" "OMG!! She's so cool! She reminds me of Emily a little as she..". Bethany continued to blab on about whatever came out that big hole of hers, I swear she doesn't even think about what she's going to say, yet I didn't hear yet, well I actually just blocked out her words. I also inspected her outfit, she's wore it with such confidence and even though it was so simple, her personality somehow shone through it. When Bethany finally stopped taking Maisie admitted that she had to leave but it was so nice meeting me, yet she never stayed why she had to go. "Bye" was all I managed to mutter in a whisper like tone as I was quite disappointed that I couldn't have gotten to know her a little better. That and the fact that now I had to walk to class with ms Chatty Cathy, formerly known as Bethany. Even though she had problem when known the right time to shut up, I appreciated her company as she was, despite her annoyingness, quite popular, and I was, well quite far from it. I liked being quite though, it let me get to know about others rather than let people know about my life and then look back and realise I never knew them very well. The school bell echoed through the halls instructing us to get to class. Bethany continued with what she done on Friday night and that this might be her '10th pregnancy scare this month', however all I could think about was-
'Maisie, the mysterious girl'
