How Stars Fled Paris

Chapter 1

Hi everyone my name is Jaimee and this is the first book I have posted on Wattpad!

This book is actually a short story that I wrote for English at school. (It was handed in a while ago though.) I was quite happy with it and thought that I may as well use Wattpad for something. This story will be split into more than one chapter, but I will most likely be posting it all today as I like to get things done straight away ;)

It's tall and majestic, the lights twinkling like bright stars against the night sky. It's stunning. Breathtaking. It makes time stand still. Mesmerising, that's the word. I sigh. I wish I could live here. I would come here every day, just to stare at this beautiful piece of architecture.

"Jess pinch me now, this must be a dream!" Lily, my best friend exclaims, her voice interrupting my thoughts.

"Yeah it's amazing," I reply, a complete understatement.
Lily and I are two Aussie girls traveling around Europe, and so far, I think I can safely say on behalf of both of us, Paris is by far the most spectacular place on earth. Lily was the one to suggest we go to Paris, and although her bossy nature makes me inclined to disagree with her ideas, I have to hand it to her; Paris really is magnificent.

I don't know what it is about night time that makes everything seem more magical. The Eiffel Tower is no exception. I can just imagine how it would look from the sky. Millions of shining fireflies, each one settled on the tower, just waiting for night time to fall so they can all come together to create a phenomena of lights. Paris, the city of love. More than that in my opinion. It's just so exquisite, heaven on earth... Again I am snapped out of my trance. I blink, confused at what I see, or rather at what I don't see. Everything has gone dark.
