"Lily?" I whisper.

"I'm here," she replies. But before we can ask questions, the lights blink back on, as though they never went out.

"Strange," I mutter.

"Ah whatever," Lily says, shrugging her shoulders. I try to have the same attitude. I try to convince myself that it's just a malfunction, it's no big deal...BANG! I jump, startled. BANG! BANG! BANG! Lily and I look at each other, alarmed. I can tell we're both thinking the same thing: gunshots. Lots of them. In the distance I can hear faint screams. Lily must have heard them too.

"Jess, let's go...now." But before I can reply, people rush in towards us from all sides, like a tsunami. Soon enough we are part of one large, screaming crowd.

"Hold on!" Lily shouts, panic creeping into her voice.

"I'm trying!" I shout back, the unease equally as apparent in my voice. Lily's sweaty hands grip my hands tightly, her nails digging into my skin. Fairly soon our destined location becomes clear.

"The metro station? Why would we go there?" I shriek, paralysed with fear.

"Stop talking and keep going!" Lily shouts, agitated.

"We can't go in there! We'll be rounded up like sheep so they can just kill us all at once!"

"Jess, stop being such a baby, it's no big deal...It's probably just some lowlife trying to pull a prank on everyone," Lily replies, but I can hear her voice quiver.
