I sat up and rubbed my temples, why is my room so dark? What happened last night? I reached for my lamp and I turned it on. I shut my eyes while I adjusted to the light when I opened them, I realized this wasn’t my room or my house. Where the hell am I? Why is this room light-tight? I need to stop with the questions. I looked down at the bed, it was huge.
I felt someone move, who did get with last night? Oh lord, did I lose my virginity? I always say I am lady but now I feel like a tramp. I feel sick with myself, why did I do this? Think back to last night… Nothing. I can’t remember anything expect getting drunk, I don’t remember leaving that vampire bar. I didn’t dare look at the person next to me, is it a human or a vampire? Lord please help me. I turned to see Ezra smirking at me, oh no. I didn’t, not with him. I opened my mouth to speak but no sound came out.
“Stop thinking so hard.” He smiled at me. “And before you ask, no we did not have sex. Everyone came back here and fell asleep.” He just stared at me, say something Harley!
“Don’t y’all sleep in coffins or the ground?” I blurted out. Smooth Harley, smooth. “Sorry.”
“It’s quite alright, if the room is light-tight we can have a bed.” He sat up and checked the time. “Quarter to six, you slept the whole day?”
“Speaking of beds, what am I doing in yours?” I blushed and looked around his room, it was very nice. The boards blocking the windows were black with white triangles up all over it, his carpet was black, his bed was black, and in fact everything was black.
“You fell asleep here.” He shrugged and lay back down. “Its fifteen minutes until I can rise up, please fall back asleep or do as you wish.”
“So you slept next to me?” I raised my eyebrow at him.
“Yes Harley, I slept next to you in my own bed.” His face was serious but his tone was mocking. “You are quite the cute sleeper,” I laughed as he carried on. “Did you know you like to cuddle in your sleep? And talk, you say some pretty funny things like ‘Hello, can you hear me?’ and then you shouted for me.”
I saw his mouth moving expect I couldn’t hear anything after he said I like to cuddle in my sleep. “Did I cuddle you?” I whispered.
“Very much so, and told me I was the perfect teddy bear, sleep talkers. Now can I rest before the sun sets?” He smiled as I lay back down, I looked under the covers and gasped.
“Why the hell am I in my underwear?” I shouted and jumped out of the bed pulling the covers around me, causing me to see Ezra’s perfectly toned body. He chuckled and sat up.
“That I do not know, you went to bed before me. I came in and fell asleep.” He stood up and walked over to the big drawers pulling jeans on.
I looked around and saw my clothes, as I pulled my shorts on I slipped and nearly fell, until Ezra appeared in front of me catching me. “Careful.” He whispered and I hadn’t realized I had dropped the covers. I just couldn’t stop looking into his eyes.
“Thank you…” I stood up and pulled the rest of my clothes on with a blush on my face. “Oh, you can sleep if you want.”
“It’s time for me to rise now anyway.” He put his hand out for me I couldn’t take it, I burst out laughing and he frowned. “Are you laughing at me?”
“Yes, ‘it’s time for me to rise now anyway.’ Who speaks like that?” I said and smiled. He was in front of me again within seconds, wearing a smirk. “You might want to put a t-shirt on, because if Dallas is still here… She’s gonna jump you.” I said, hoping he would listen.
“Jump me?” He asked.
“Oh, meaning she will have sex with you.” I shrugged and he ran a hand over my cheek.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. When I opened them he kissed my forehead before disappearing. I walked down the stairs and decided to leave before I embarrassed myself again. His house was no more than a five minute walk from his to mine. I got in and leant against the door, I couldn’t stop thinking about Ezra. The way he talks, walks, smiles and laughs everything about him is truly beautiful.
“Harley what’s wrong?” Dallas voice brought me back to the present.
“Nothing, I can’t believe I slept the whole day.” I muttered and sat down.
“Did you become a bad girl?” She winked at me.
“Nope, I need food and a shower.” I hinted.
“Go for a shower and I’ll make you food.” She smiled and I ran upstairs to my room to take a shower.
I let the hot water run over my body, once again my mind wandered to Ezra. When he touched my cheek and kissed my forehead, did I want him to kiss me? I washed my hair and body quickly. I shut my eyes and titled my head back letting the shower heat me up.
“Harley, foods ready.” Dani said and I covered my body. “Dallas told me to get you.”
“You shout from outside the bathroom, stop looking at me.” I shouted and she smirked while handing me a towel. “Get out.” I wrapped what I thought was a towel around me, instead it was a see through dressing gown. Oh my lord, at least no one is in my room, I walked out of my en-suite and bumped into Ezra. I covered my body quickly. “What are you doing in my room?”
“Blame Dani, she told me to come up here.” He said and I ran back to the bathroom. “And Harley?”
“Yes…”
“Very nice.” He said through the door separating us. “You can come out now.” He shouted. I peeked out of my en-suite, sure enough my room was empty.
I got dressed in a vest and pyjama shorts. I pulled my hair into a ponytail, and quickly put my slippers on. I ran downstairs and saw Dani smirking at me.
“Dani, how dare you do that to me?! You have to learn how to live along with humans, that ain’t how you do it!” I shouted at her and her smirk got bigger which made my blood boil. I reached out and slapped her. It probably did me more harm than her, but I needed to do that. Ezra appeared in front of me. “Oh and you, you don’t go into someone’s room unless they ask you personally.” I snapped, he smirked at me. “Will you stop with the smirking?”
“I am sorry Harley.” Ezra said and looked into my eyes. “I wasn’t thinking.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry too.” Dani muttered and I sat down to eat.
Being friends with vampires is a lot harder than it looks.
