hush

when you tell me that my words hold no value
that nothing i say has much significance in a conversation
you are proposing this idea that women are to be hushed
ignored
only to be presentable
but not a human being with an opinion
when you tell me i look pretty
but not when i speak politics
you are telling me to look
but never to speak
i would like to inform you that women are people
as much as men are
however
men are not
the standard of equality
