Sierra POVThe sheets were soft, a cool breeze swept across the room. I turned to my side- but not without noticing the pain between my legs. My eyes shot open; I took my surroundings in.
The walls were white- that was the first thing that told me this was not my room. My walls were blues with black detailing all around. I looked around and saw my dress I had worn yesterday on the floor, torn to shreds. I noticed my red heals laying around and my bra. I noted the men's clothing laying around.
I had slept with someone... But who? My memory was foggy and buzzed, all thanks to a major hangover. As I sat up the room spun a but. It was then I realized I was naked. I hadn't clued in I was- even seeing my clothes on the floor.
I stood up- fell back down and got up again. I walked to the open closet door. I grabbed a white button up shirt and rolled the sleeves up. I looked in the mirror. The room seemed familiar. I found an on-suit. The products snapped me into realization. This was Alexs' flat.
I had slept with my best friend. I guess it could be worse; I could've slept with some random creep. I quietly walked from his room and into the rest of the flat. Alexs' family was rich as fuck, so he had the nicest place out if all of our group.
I found him sitting in the kitchen at the island. I walked in. He looked up from his phone and gave a lop-sided smile. I smiled back, but it was forced.
I found the coffee pot and poured myself a glass. I stood at the island; no words were spoken. We had crossed some invisible line. We had slept together on a drunk night.
"Tylenol?" He asked. I nodded and mumbled a thank you.
He sighed heavily. "I'm sorry S." I looked up from my mug.
"What for?" I asked, tilting my head to the side and inspecting him. He looked messed up; his hair was mussed- like he had ran his hands through them-- or you had- he was wearing a pair of sweats that hung low on his hips and was shirtless. It wasn't any better than the one article of clothing I had on.
"We- uh, you know we slept together, right?" He almost looked nervous.
I nodded. "Yeah, I clued in." Silence. Was he ashamed of what he had done? For helping me get over the jerk-ass? "It wasn't wrong- well, it kinda was, but I was all mopy and you just helped me. It's fine. It doesn't change our friendship." Oh but it did.
He looked up at me and nodded. Then laughed, surprising me. "Friends with benefits?" He wiggled his brow.
I pushed him. "God no, Alex!" But I was laughing. He pushed me back. I stumbled back from the force and grabbed into him, bringing him back down with me. I landed in my back, letting out an 'oomph'.
They were like a trap. His emerald eyes stared at my black orbs, his hand glided across my bare leg. What was he doing? I lifted my head just a bit and bit on my lip.
The bell rung. My head fell against the cold tile flooring. He scrambled up and helped me. "I'll get the door." His cheeks were Crimson. I nodded and went back to my coffee.
The door opened and I saw Alex stiffen. "Hey Shannon." Oh, I remember Shannon. She was Alexs' ex. Let's just say she was way to over bearing and all the right crazy.
"Hey Alex! I just wanted to see what you were up to today?" Her voice was high pitched and squeaky; it hurt my poor ears.
Alex looked troubled, like he could couldn't come up with an answer- or excuse. So I walked up behind him and placed my hand in his shoulder. The last time Shannon and I met my hair was blonde- do to a stupid prank.
"Hey babe. When're you coming back? The beds cold." I then looked at Shannon. My acting skills were coming in handy.
"Oh, I didn't know you had company. I'll just come back.." Her eyes were wide.
"I wouldn't if I were you." I snapped. She nodded and ran away. Alex closed the door. We burst into fits of laughter.
"Did you see her face?! Priceless!" Alex yelled. I nodded.
"Hey, I owed you. Now, I need some clothes considering you ripped my dress to shreds." His eyes widened.
"Did I? Shit, sorry. I know how much you liked that dress." We walked back to his room.
"It's fine. Sides, I was planning on burning it." I shivered at the fact I had worn it on my last date with Blake. Alex nodded and handed me some sweat pants and a hoodie.
"I'll drive you home. I have some things I need to do." I nodded an okay. The elevator plaid that awkward music that makes the air thick and, well, awkward.
I got into his black sports car. It smelled like leather, a smell I loved and had become accustomed to. Blake had always hated the smell of leather and said I wasn't allowed to wear leather around him. And that was hard because I loved my black leather jacket and boots.
We pulled up to my old apartment. It was run down, yes, but it was close to school and didn't need much pay. Alex decided in coming in for awhile. I unlocked the door and found mail in the island. My neighbour popped his head out. "Sorry, bills came by and you weren't home. Let myself in and set it in your counter." He looked over Alex.
I thanked him and opened the bill. It was for the rent, stating I hadn't paid my last two bills and that they were kicking me out. I had twenty-four hours to move out. I looked up at Alex. I guess it was time to get back to reality.
