A/N: Percy Jackson and Newcomers, and Annabeth and Me are my other Percy Jackson fanfictions if you want to read them. The names are kind of self-explanatory.

Ben

Anne hadn't come back and I was worried. She was my best friend, and I was scared that she had been hurt by the new half-blood. I felt like I needed to protect her, even though she was saving me half the time. She didn't even have powers like I did.

I had only found out that I was a son of Ares a few weeks ago. I was one of Ares' more disappointing children, I didn't hate all of Athena's offspring in the usual Athens vs. Sparta rivalry.

I did still inherit the ability to fight well, though I was small. The other demigods joked that I was a son of Hephaestus, who had argued that he was my father, but I had looked more like Ares so he claimed me.

Returning to the present, I ran through the woods, going where my instincts told me. I knew I was getting closer when I saw tiny patches of frost along the path.

Finally, I came out of the woods to see a cottage made of ice. I gasped, seeing Anne unconscious or worse outside of it. I ran to her, despite being exhausted from sprinting, and almost tripping in the process.

I immediately checked for a heartbeat. I wait a minute, then .....thump.....thump.....thump.....thump.

Thank Apollo! She's alive, if not well off.

I left her to look into the cottage. I drew my sword.

It was a hand and a half sword, celestial bronze, and had a dragon made of obsidian wrapped around the hilt. It was slightly curved, and was around a foot and a half long. I had gotten it as a gift from my father before I had befriended Anne.

I walked up to the strange cottage and tried to open the door. It easily swung open, revealing the new demigod, also lying on the floor, which was also made of ice.

I checked her pulse. I couldn't find one. She wasn't breathing. Despite the fact that she must have hurt Anne, I started pressing on her chest and blowing into her mouth, trying to get her to wake up. I kept trying, but nothing was happening.

After two minutes, I had almost given up. They almost never came back after that.

I heard a loud intake of breath. She was alive!

She kept gasping, trying to regain her breath. I headed over to Anne.
