The soul

"I'm so confused" I sighed and threw the book I was reading on the floor. "Hey were going to find out about that Wendigo" lulu said. "Hey look on the bright side, we don't have school for a week" mika said looking at his computer. "So we have Lot's of days to find out" Lulu said.

"I guess your right" I said, "How are you doing about hacking into the NYPD system" I said to Mika, he shook his head "Might take another six hours" he said. "How bout the school cameras" Lulu said, "There's no footage, well their is but, you can't make it out" he said.

"Well I guess that's good news" I said, "We don't know anything about this wendigo, like we know it was a bitten one because the color of it's eyes" I said, "They were purple not red" Lulu said, I took out this old book that my mother gave to me. "What is that" Mika and Lulu said, "A book" I said, "Yeah w can see that" Lulu said.

"It's a family tradition" I said, "On my mother's side of the family, the witches, we keep a book and write all the creatures that we have encountered into this book" I said. "So all the future generations of witches or wizards can have it and write what try encountered" I said.

"So their should be a Wendigo in their" Mika said, "No, none of my family have ever encountered a wendigo before" I said, "Well they have encountered it, but they just didn't live long enough to write it down" I said, they both locked shocked. Lulu opened her mouth, but nothing came out.

"Same time tomorrow" I said to Lulu and Mika as they walked put the business office. I walked over to Snow and Bigby and sat down. "So Bigby you have nothing to tell me about a wendigo" I said, "Nope, but I'm sure Bufkin does" he said. I sighed and walked to find the green monkey.

"Bufkin can you tell me anything about a Wendigo" I said, "Ah, the Wendigo" he said, "That's a nasty and cold creature, It craves flesh, human flesh to be specific. A Wendigo can turn a human into one if they scratch them or the human itself can turn them selves" he said.

"What do you mean 'Can turn themselves' " I said, "I mean, that they can be power hungry, they want to be more powerful" he said "And their greediness turns them, you'll know that its someone if they start to act violence. If they eat human flesh they are a Wendigo for ever. They like to live in damp dark palaces" he said.

"Wait I read a book about wendigos and it said that they can turn on a full moon and all that stuff" I said, "Well, yeah theirs four types of wendigos in the world" he said

"Anyway The only way you can kill a Wendigo is by throwing fire at their heart, if not their sprit will hunt the place where they were vanquished" he said, "What" I screamed "yeah if you don't throw it at the heart they can posses someone else" he said, "thanks Bufkin" I said as I ran.

I Dialed Lulu, "Hello" she said, "Listen where are you" I said, "Mika Is about to drop me off" she said, "Turn around and head for the school I'll be there in 15 minutes" I said and hung up the phone.

"Will you please explain to me why are we here at midnight" Mika said. I explained what bufkin told me to them. "So the Wendigo might of posed a worker" Lulu said, "Yeah, and this time we have to aim the fire at their heart to get rid of their soul" I said.

Mika and Lulu backed up, "What" I said, they looked at each other, "Um, I don't want the oxygen sucked out of me again" Lulu said, I sighed "Don't worry, that's why I brought these" I said as I pulled out three flamethrower's. "Whoa this is cool" Mika said. "Now come on so we can kill a Wendigo" I said.

"What if the wendigo is out looking for flesh" Mika whispered, "It wouldn't" I said, "Why not" Lulu said, "Because their was hundreds of workers fixing the school and he had to get at
Least one" I said.

"Where can he be that is damp and dark" I said, "Ooh, the school basement" Lulu said, "Oh yeah it is dark and damp" Mika said.

"I can't believe we are hunting down a demon spirit in school" Mika said, "Flashlights on" said Lulu. We all turned our flashlights on, "I think were going the wrong way" Mika said, "We're going the right way" I said, "How do you know" he said, I tapped my nose "I smell blood" I whispered "it's fresh and close" I said walking forward.

We kept walking forward what felt like hours, until we reached a spot of wet blood. I Bent down and touched it, I brought it to my nose to smell it, "It's human blood" I said getting up, "Are you sure" mika said, I glared at him until he looked away "Sorry" he said.

"Shh" I said, "What" they said, "You don't hear that" I said, they shook their heads. I went forward and was stopped by the Wendigo.

Before I could grab the flamethrower I was pushed to the side. I hit my head on the wall. "No doubt that I'm bleeding" I thought. I got up and saw it running towards Mika and Lulu. "Get out of the way" I screamed as I got up and jumped on its back.

It slowed it down for awhile, but then I got throw off. My vision was getting blurry and I couldn't focus on what I was doing.

I heard Lulu and Mika scream, and the sound of rocks crumbling. I got up but fell back down on my hands and knee's. I heard a low growl, and got up again, this time succeeded, "Hey A-hole" I said, it turned around and started running towards me. It was about to claw me until I aimed the flamethrower at its heart and aimed.

It screamed in agony. That was the last thing I heard until I saw  nothing but a black void.

"I'm telling you detective, it was another cougar" I heard Lulu say, I heard the detective sigh, "OK thank you" he said. I heard his footsteps fading as he walked down the hall. "What happened" I said as I got up, which made a ton of pain to to my head. "You hit your head on the wall" Bigby said, "I guess that explains my head" I said.

"What happened to your face and arm" I said pointing at Lulu, "It's just a couple of scratches and a sprain" she said "You should see Mika" she said, I jumped out of the bed "Where is he, is he okay" I said, "Whoa calm down" Lulu said, "He's over their" Snow said.

I walked over to the curtain and pulled it back. Mika was laying down, it just all looked like he had a broken neck. I sat in the chair next to his bed and held his hand,his eyes shot open and I hugged him, "ow, broken rips here" he said in pulled back, "Sorry" I said sitting down.

I looked at him up and down to see if he was hurt anywhere else. "Marek I'm fine, just a couple broken rips and my neck" he said smiling. I crossed my arms "Define a couple" I said frowning, "Just four or six" he said, "What" I nearly  screamed, "Just kidding, I only have 2 fractured rips" he said.

"I'm afraid you guys will have to leave" the nurse said, "OK" I said, "Um, Miss you'll have to stay" the nurse said pointing at me, "What, why I only have a head injury" I said, she pointed at my foot, "It doesn't even hurt I he-" I was cut off by Bigby, I sighed "Fine" I said sitting down. I could see Mika smirking from the corner of my eyes. "Shut up Scott" I said.
