Chapter 6

             The next day at school, I try to avoid Zach as much as possible. It's a good thing Carol keeps talking to him everyday. I could somewhat focus in class. Zach sit behind me in some classes and I tend to feel like he's looking at me . The school is holding a masquerade ball this week and everyone is invited. Apparently, you need a date so that officially means I'm not going, but I know Carol isn't going to let that go off easily. The ball is on Friday. On Wednesday,  Carol comes and tell me that  Zach asked her out to the dance. She jumped and squealed in my ear . Raymond (Ray) Matthew apparently asked me to go to. Ray is '6'0' , has light brown eyes, wears glasses, and has black hair with brown highlights. He is an average student like me. We talk sometimes, but not so much. I told Carol he asked me out to the ball and she said we can double date. She made me promise to go so I can't not go. 

            It's Friday afterschool, me and Carol are in her room getting ready. She's wearing a purple and black strapless mini dress with her hair pulled back in a bun. Her mask matches the dress. I'm wearing a mini black dress that was all lace. My hair was pulled back in a half up ponytail. My mask was a lace - bejeweled mask. We were picked up at 7pm and were at the school by 7:30pm. The gym was literally like ballroom like in princess movies. The school really outdone itself. I'm impressed. We went to get a table to sit. I talked with Ray about the ball and about the school while Carol and Zach dances. After that, we all went to get food. I got a cheese cake and some cookies with fruit punch. Raymond and I danced after we ate. We took a break then Zach asked me and Ray asked Carol. The music turned into a slow dance so we had to slow dance. It's so uncomfortable. Zach and I talked while dancing. 

      Zach: You look pretty tonight.

       Me: Thanks you too. 

       Zach: I look pretty?! - laughs- 

       Me:Oh you know what I mean. 

      Zach: Yeah I do. 

      Me: I thought you didn't like Carol so why did you ask her out?

      Zach: I know she likes me and if I asked her out, she would definitely ask you to go along somehow. 

         Me: ........................ ok. I have a question.

      Zach: yes? 

     Me: I tried reading your mind when you came to this school, but I couldn't. Instead, I had a shock go through my mind. Then you smirked. You knew I tried reading your mind.  How come it didn't work?

   Zach: It's because your not the only one with special skills. 

    Me: ..............................

     The dance was over and we left. Me and Carol seperated from the boys. Carol was talking, but I wasn't listening. I was too focus on Zach ( no in that way). When I got home,changed, and went to bed, I still wonder what can Zach do as his skill...................................
