Jasmine
Alone on Valentines Day.
Once again.
You would think that I would get over my extreme shyness and talk to a guy. But no. My best friends Maria and Jack always tell me that I should be brave and showcase my personality. But I never do. Sad I know.
So I sit here watching my favorite movie, Pride & Prejudice. I love this movie so much. I just wish I had my own Mr. Darcy. As stubborn and prideful as he is he loves Elizabeth wholeheartedly. My favorite seen is about to come up as I mouth the dialogue.
Mr. Darcy: So this is your opinion of me. Thank you for explaining so fully. Perhaps these offences might have been overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my honesty...
Elizabeth Bennet: *My* pride?
Mr. Darcy: ...in admitting scruples about our relationship. Could you expect me to rejoice in the inferiority of your circumstances?
Elizabeth Bennet: And those are the words of a gentleman. From the first moment I met you, your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.
[they look at each other for a long time as though about to kiss]
Mr. Darcy: Forgive me, madam, for taking up so much of your time. It's so passionate even though they are arguing and I love this scene. Especially when they make up.
Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?
Elizabeth Bennet: Very well. Only I wish you would not call me "my dear".
Mr. Darcy: Why?
Elizabeth Bennet: Because it's what my father always calls my mother when he's cross about something.
Mr. Darcy: What endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth Bennet: Well let me think..."Lizzie" for everyday, "My Pearl" for Sundays, and..."Goddess Divine", but only on very special occasions.
Mr. Darcy: [Chuckles] And...what should I call you when I am cross? "Mrs. Darcy"?
Elizabeth Bennet: [Smiling] No! No. You may only call me "Mrs. Darcy"... when you are completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.
Mr. Darcy: [Snickers] Then how are you this evening... Mrs. Darcy? [kisses her forehead]
Mr. Darcy: Mrs. Darcy [kisses her left cheek]
Mr. Darcy: Mrs. Darcy [kisses her nose]
Mr. Darcy: Mrs. Darcy [kisses her right cheek]
Mr. Darcy: Mrs. Darcy [they kissed]Aww so sweet. The movie is over and i switch it to Princess and the Frog. This movie is so good. As the movie goes on though my mind begins to drift and I find myself in front of the balcony looking at the stars. All I could think about was having my own Prince Charming. I want someone who can make me laugh, is endlessly devoted, cuddly and tall. I know it seems ridiculous but I just want someone to love.
A shooting star goes across the night sky and I shut my eyes. Making a secret wish that may never come true. A wish for true love.
This is stupid. I'm going to bed.
I should've been careful what I wished for.
