The Gangleader

Chapter 11

       I was coming into my apartment from work when the phone ranged. I rushed to pick it up, dropping everything else.
       "Hello?", I asked breathlessly
       "Aria, it's Dre"
       "Oh, hey what's up?"
        "You need to come to the hospital right now"
    I tensed up, worried. "Why, what happened?"
     He sighed. "Eric got beat up pretty bad. He's gonna be ok but you need to get here, now"
      I grabbed my purse. "I'm on my way"

       "Eric Wright?", I asked
       "Hold on", the lady at the desk said as she looked him up for me. "He's in room 227"
      "Ok, thank you"
   I rushed down to the room and opened the door to see Eric bandaged up, watching television.
      "Oh, baby", I said going to him and hugging him gently.
      "It's ok, baby. I'm fine", he said running my back.
      "Who did this to you?"
      "Yo people"
I frowned. "What? Marko did this to you?"
"Yeah. Somehow he found out about us. Told me to stay away from you and a that shit", he said rolling his eyes.
I put my head down. He was following me. That's how he found out about us and now Eric is in the hospital because of me.
"I'm so sorry, Eric. I didn't know he was keeping tabs on me like that. It's all my fault".
He reached for me and pulled me into his lap on the bed. "No, Aria. It's not. Don't blame yourself. I chose to be with you. It's ok, don't cry baby".
He wiped the few tears that escaped my eyes and pulled me into a hug. "We gonna get through this. I promise", he said
I took and deep breath and snuggles closer to him. "I love you. You don't have to say it back. I just want you to know that I do and how grateful I am for you".
He nodded. "It's ok. I love you, too. I'll always do my best to protect you"
I hugged him lightly. "I know you will, baby. I know you will".

I want to put some more drama into it. I'm not good at writing drama stuff😂. But I promise to do my best. And I have drafts saved up for my new stories that I told you guys about so don't think I haven't been writing those to. I just haven't published them yet. I might do it sooner rather than later. I just didn't want to many books at once to overwhelm you guys. But if you can handle it, I'll published them sooner. Of not I'll just finished up the ones have have now and publish the new one later by hopefully soon
