I woke up in the morning all alone in bed with nobody in the house. I walked into the bathroom an got ready for the day.

"This house is too damn quiet." Pulling on my gold heels I walk down the stairs to find nothing out of place. Suddenly I hear footsteps. Not knowing whom it is I grab a chair and break off a leg using it as a makeshift stake. Once the door opens I grab the man and stab in the back.

"Jesus Christ Andrina! Damon yells." Once I realize whom I stabbed I start to shake. Matt was on the ground with the stake through his chest. Next thing I know I'm on my knees crying. Damon has his arms around me trying to talk to me, but I break free and run out off the house into the forest.

"Sun's up. They're long gone." Jeremy says as Damon enters.

"As has Andy" Damon said worried for his girlfriend.

"What the hell were you thinking? All I asked you to do was to teach him how to fight." Elena said angry.

"He's not the best student in the world." Damon says pissed off with his girlfriend's cousin.

"Wait. Now this is my fault?" Jeremy asks.

"Stop talking. Look, I know you're angry, but my way was the easiest, fastest, and safest way to complete his mark to get you the cure." Damon says annoyed.

"I don't care about the cure, Damon. Not if it means putting the people that I love in danger." Elena said trying to be all high and mighty.

"Hey, there would have been no danger if he hadn't gone all bleeding heart." Damon replied annoyed and angry.

"He killed someone. These were innocent people." Elena argues.

"The mark grew, didn't it?" Damon asked Jeremy.

"Okay. Look. We need a plan. There's a group of compelled vampires out there, and as soon as the sun goes down, they're gonna come after Matt, so we have to find a way to protect him." Elena spoke determined.

"Yes, I know." Damon says walking over to Jeremy and puts his arm around his shoulder.

"But there will be no problem when big Jer and I here go on a hunting expedition." He continued. Elena doesn't look on board with the plan.

"Elena, I know, it's tragic. I get it. But we also agree that he had to kill them. Now, we have added incentive. So you take the least most valuable player home; Jeremy, Andy and I will finish this."

"I'm sorry? Are saying I should leave him here with you?" Elena said angry.

"No you should leave him here with your cousin AKA his guardian. Trust me. We will keep him safe. Okay?" Damon says. Elena looks at him warily before nodding her head 'yes.' The door opens and Andrina walks in. Matt looks at her and she runs to him and engulfs him in a bear hug.

"Thank the holy god!" I said relief filing my heart.

"I thought I killed you! How are you alive?!" I looked at Matt then at Damon confusion all over my face.

"I have a gilbert ring." Matt said showing me his hand.

"Oh shit." I cursed. This is not good.

"You shouldn't be wearing that ring. Th-that ring is dangerous. It causes insanity." I said sitting down on the couch. Going back into my memory I see the moment I found the ring.
